Did you order straight on-line and if so where? From the official bmw site? Or did u get it from a dealer? I want to buy a new car but I hate car salesman really bad I just cannot deal with them so I'm thinking of carsdirect.com

ssp 07-14-2006 11:24 AM

Congrats on the waste of money!

I did not buy it online. I cant really buy anything unless i see it first so im going to a dealer.

I agree, i hate sales man too. Im taking my uncle (his is a biz man) and his friend who ownes a bmw. They will do the barging for me. :upsidedow If you go to a dealer take someone who ownes a bwm, they you will get a good deals.

ProducerCashDave 07-14-2006 11:33 AM

You don't feel weird about having people bargaining for you? Personally I would feel not in control and not very "grown up" if I had to bring someone to bargain for me, I feel like I have to be in control because it is my money and my car. I would feel like the salespeople think that I'm too weak to do it on my own and need people to back me up or "take care" of me.

But even so I still can't bargain for shit and don't like salespeople so I'll probably get it from carsdirect because that way you don't have to negotiate and the price is closer to invoice I think.

xlogger 07-14-2006 11:38 AM

I dont feel weird at all. Its pretty much a fact that if you are young they will try to stick it to you.

Well, car dealers are not that hard if you think about it. They want to sell a car WAY more than you want to buy it. They really dont give a shit about you, they just want to sell a car. They are under a lot of pressure to sell a car too. Just keep that in mind when you go to buy a car and you would be fine. ;)

I'm not young, I'm 28, but I LOOK young and I feel like they would still try and stick it to me anyways. And to be honest I'm not good at negotiating/making deals in person either. Do you mind if I ask you how old you are?

Yea, I just can't stand car salesmen, I have a bad phobia about them. I was reading up on bargaining techniques and stuff on Edmunds and how car salespeople are trained and the tricky mental games/techniques they use to get the best deal for themselves... ugh

What do you think of slk350 btw? That's what I want to get...

4Pics 07-14-2006 11:47 AM

why do you want a 3 series?

Go for the M5 !!

Young 07-14-2006 11:55 AM

Congratulations! Now you can be like 20 million other Americans!!!!!!

In all seriousness though I hate the 3 series. Congrats.

Im 21.

I went to the dealer with my friends and was checking the cars outside. No one came outside and asked me anything. Then i went with my uncle and salesmen were fighting to come to us first, LOL. Im telling you, if you look young they wont take you seriously, always take someone older with experience.

AmateurFlix 07-14-2006 11:59 AM

congrats

I hate salespeople like that... That's messed up. I also read a study where they had groups of people go to the same car dealerships and they generally treated white males the best. While women and minorities got ignored or not as good treatment/service.

RayBonga 07-14-2006 12:03 PM

Make sure you post some pics :thumbsup

i doubt that especially when you are looking at the 3 series... it's not exactly the most expensive car on the market, no offense. maybe they didn't take you serious because you didn't look it.

also, why the hell would someone who owns a bmw get a better deal then someone who doesnt.

it's very easy to deal with car salesman, know what you want before you get to the dealership, and stick to it.

don't ever tell a salesman "i want my payment to be $600 a month" ... they will ass rape the hell out of you.

you don't have to buy the car in your first trip to the place, if you don't like their offer and they arent budging leave... they will call you back.

time to man up and do the bargaining on your own :)

Magix 07-14-2006 01:45 PM

congrats to you :)

HpicAnn 07-14-2006 01:48 PM

You know sometimes people know better then you in life... you just let them act in your name. Even the biggest business man on planet earth have to let people talk in their name.

Does Tommy Hilfiger manufacture his own clothes? Does Bill Gates write every line of code in Windows? Of course not. But it's still their work, their design, their expertise, their trained team of professionals.

:thumbsup :2 cents:
