Anyone starting to get discouraged with NATs based affiliate progs?
I know I am.
The fact that webmaster areas are becomming slower than GFY and the random nats errors refusing the pages to load.. yeah. Sounds like a great time had by all. |
NATS seems pretty reliable.
Are you having problems with it? |
nats rocks!
|
No problems here. I love NATS. :)
|
i dont think the problem is with nats
nats is affordible and some people that might get nats get shitty hosting that is not setup right then there are mysql problems and everyone blames nats when its really a hosting issue. |
havent had a problem with nats yet
|
i love nats
any program that uses NATs is GARANTEED to get more affiliate traffic than the one with something else. |
I guess I should say it's not specifically "nats" it's all them damn all-in-one management scripts. They're rubbish.
I've seen more problems with the affiliate areas since these systems came into place. What ever happened to good old fashioned html and custom scripts to run the hosted galleries. Now everything is a huge database system with more things to go wrong. It's like the difference between a basic early car and a modern car. more things to go wrong, and they DO go wrong. |
What are the errors you're having and with what programs?
|
it's all sql errors, it's the nature of them that leads me to beleive it's the scripts ovewhealming the databases. Not so much the fualt of the hosting companies.
I won't name names on the sites because frankly, they come back up an hour or so later each time. Just to satisfy my curiosity I'll keep tabs on whic hosts each one is with. if I see a pattern then I'll have to say sandman is right. |
Damn. Run nats side to side with say ccbill for the same site and your numbers will come out better with nats, especially being able to cascade.
Its all about the numbers. |

as for nats, I have never ever encountered any mysql errors in any nats programs, guess I have been lucky |

SQL errors will happen to any programs, whether it's custom script or not. The difference is that with the custom scripts, a programmer is on staff and probably tweaked mysql and related config. You should name programs, so they can get their shit together and look into their config. I know that if WE had SQL errors I'd like to know ASAP ;) |
its easier to compare programs that switched.. before and after nats ratios on steady reliable traffic. I would have to say my non-nats sponsors do better as a whole than nats sponsors , but in order for me to come out of that with any real conclusions i would need more data than just mine to compare.. i.e. there are so many factors involved.
as far as nats errors i do alot of testing and they are everywhere, BUT as its so commonly used now compared to others custom software that might not give errors in the same fashion everytime its only predictable that this would happen. hopefully they take my suggestions and find alternatives to having --------------------------- nats smarty error etc etc whatever -------------- and have something like - oops there was an error click here for the free pornj or reload your browser etc ( error logged ) |
