Nookster 07-13-2006 11:49 PM

MonkeyG 07-13-2006 11:54 PM

I'm switching to HostGator

Their entire datacenter must have crashed...all I can explain that would cause their entire network to go offline. :Oh crap

martinsc 07-14-2006 12:02 AM

yup, seems to be down...

Hmm, I may spend a bit of time searching for a host though as I am now finding bad reviews and comments from host gator customers. :Oh crap

Nookster 07-14-2006 12:33 AM

Network is back online.

Nookster 07-14-2006 12:35 AM

Apparently they made an announcement earlier today about "outages": check out their forum

"There was a fire in the building of our Data Center. The fire deptment was forced to shut down power. We have just returned on-line and our currently checking systems."

cPanel is fine here and I utilize four different servers. :2 cents:

Once my plans end, yes. I haven't set on a single host yet though. My one plan is recurring/ending in Sept. so I think I'll give hostgator a shot, then when my other plans end I'll move them there as well as long as the service is good.

Nookster 07-14-2006 03:50 AM

I might give LP another shot with my mainstream sites because although they just had an "outage" this was the first I've experienced in months...and that's pretty good compared to all these other virtual hosts around.

Did you ever go with Hostgator and are they any good?

wdsguy 09-13-2006 12:31 PM

I have a couple different accounts with hostgator. They have exceptional customer service and a really easy billing interface. Only thing is they charge you small fees for making changes like switching plans or adding a service, etc.

fris 09-13-2006 12:33 PM

my lunarpages mainstream sites went down yesterday, by the time i spent 20 mins on hold it was back up.

Thanks for that. Do you have any virtual accounts? Are you happy with uptime etc?
