Google Adwords goes nuts with 2000% cpc increases - thousands affected
 

I'm surprised there aren't threads about this on gfy.

Advertisers are seeing increases of their minimum bids of up to 2000% across the board. Anybody here been affected?

I'll break it down for ya'll - straight from Google:

"From time-to-time, we improve our algorithms for evaluating landing page quality (often based on feedback from our end-users), and next week we're launching another such improvement. Thus, over the coming days a small number of advertisers who are providing a low quality user experience on their landing pages will see increases in their minimum bids. It is important to note, however, that the vast majority of advertisers will not be affected at all by this change, as they link to quality landing pages."

You'd think Google would do something like this to collect more money from advertisers, but when they're uppin' the min. bids that much there's something else going on. Nobody can follow through and still make a profit on their PPC campaigns with such increases.

Advertisers bidding real low (based on high CTR), on A LOT of KWs, are being hit real hard.

its easy to adjust to this, create more landing pages relavent to your terms. Its actully not hard to do this if you know some code and can see what keywords are comming in.

think about it if you have more focused landing page to the keywords overall your conversions will go up.

I first noticed it 3 nights ago.. yeah it sucks hairy ass.. A lot of us are awaiting reviews by their quality people. A lot more have said FU and moved on to other advertising methods I guess..

I'm so pissed at those fucker at the moment, wtf are they thinking. Lost over 90% of my adwords revenue in 1 day, both porn and mainstream..... No warning at all, just fucked me over.

I had a page disapproved for some bullshit reason and did loose a few good keywords. I sent them a email and told them i'd take my business elsewhere. I'm sure they will change there ways now. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

looks like ads that were most affected were ones with a lot of keywords, a high CTR, and a low CPC. basically if you were doing everything right (and making a killing), they raised your bids from ~$0.05 to $0.50, even if there's no other competition for the KW.
