      like do you want the banner link to be set in the code like <embed src=flash.swf?url=yoururl.com> or hardcoded like <embed src=banner.swf> and it would always go to the same url

      ( p.s. because of i.e.'s security settings , the banner might not work locally but would work on a server

        i wanted to be able to modify the link from the embed source so that i can properly use campaign link codes without having to change the banner around

          that could work, or even its own separate embed param... whatever it takes to be able to use different linkcodes without having to modify the banner

                    Haven't tried it, but I heard using javascript to write the object and embed tags might do it.

                    In regard to having an embed src like:

                    src="flash.swf?url=http://www.someurl.com/" with an additional query string appended to the URL paramter, try and escape the "?" -- so there's not two question marks after the "flash.swf".

                    Also, the button in the flash movie must be coded so it uses the passed in "url" parameter. Haven't used flash in a while, but I think the command is:

                    getUrl( url );
