Was the film Rocky about boxing?
 

Ok this is my view on the first Rocky film. Even though he loses the fight he gets Adrian and hence wins.

Rocky the first film is about love.

No, it was about a killer alien baby that, unless he is rocked constantly, he would kill mankind. Hence the title "Rocky."

I see it as a movie that needed a 2nd part so Rocky could win.

If it was only about boxing it wouldn't be as popular as it would have.

It's one of the great underdog stories of all time ;)

Dont you love the ending when he shouts out Adrian.

It's about the underdog that wins when no one expected him to.

It's primarily about a boxer's life.. His courage and determination to survive on and off the ring.
