UFC question (tito and shamrock)

I might be wrong, dont watch the ufc alot, I was under the impression that Tito and Shamrock have fought 3 times.

1st time - shamrock
2nd time - tito
3rd time - tito

someone is telling me they have only fought twice ever, is this correct?

RRRED 07-12-2006 02:03 PM

Twice... the first time was "punishment" I forget the number but it was like 2 years ago or so.

Fucksakes 07-12-2006 02:09 PM

as far as i know its 3 times.. the last time was a rematch

Champion Frank Shamrock beat Tito Ortiz on September 24, 1999 in Lake Charles, LA

xxxdesign-net 07-12-2006 02:11 PM

2 times with Ken Shamrock and 1 with Frank Shamrock

Ya, just two times. He lost both. The reason they hate each other so much is because of a previous fight where Tito was fighting one of the guy's from Shamrock's camp.

Tito was very disrespectful after he kicked this guy's ass and put on a shirt in the ring that called the other guy gay or something. Shamrock got pissed off and started yelling shit about respect to him, and they've had a little war going ever since.

Unfortunately I paid for the last PPV, one of the biggest disappointments ever. One of my friends actually fell asleep during the Slyvia fight. Worst use of $40 ever.

Glad I did not ppv this one.

On July 8, 2006 Shamrock faced Ortiz for the second time at UFC 61- Bitter Rivals and lost in 1:18 of the first round by technical knockout called by referee Herb Dean. Early in the first round Ortiz successfully secured a double leg takedown on Shamrock, lifting him up and slamming him to the mat. Although Shamrock was now on his back in a disadvantageous position, he was able to get Ortiz into his full guard. This, however, did not stop Ortiz from using one of his hallmark ground and pound tactics of maneuvering his opponent against the fence of the Octagon and subsequently striking from above. After maneuvering Shamrock to the fence, Ortiz landed a barrage of five elbow strikes to Shamrockhahaha8217;s head, prompting Dean to stop the fight.

2 times. They last ppv was shit. The outcome of Tito fight was obvious and that andrei fight look like an amateur kickboxing match

cheekycherry 07-12-2006 03:34 PM

Sounds like they are getting mixed up with Frank Shamrock, Ken's little brother.

FRANK beat Tito once and Tito beat Ken twice.

So yes, 3 fights... 1 win to the slimcocks and 2 to Tito.

reynold 07-12-2006 07:16 PM

All I could say is that the last fight was just so boring...

Martin3 07-12-2006 08:16 PM

Yeah, you're thinking of Ken's younger brother Frank. That loss to Frank was the best thing that ever happened to Tito. He was winning the fight and started to gass out. Frank beat the hell out of him in a quick flurry and won the fight. Tito's been a cardio machine ever since.

As far as the title fight goes, Andrei and Silvia were very causious of each other cause they are both killing michines. I wanna see another meeting for the two. For those of us that ordered it, lets just be thankful that Joe Daddy opened up that guys head, if not for all that blood the night would have been a complete loss.

The highlight was surely that guy getting in Chuck Liddels face, that looks like a fight!!

ROFL, "that guy" was Wanderlei Silva! (pronounced van-der lay) Aka the Axe Murderer. He's long been one of my favourite fighters, and has a stare that would make me involuntarily give my feet a golden shower. Look him up on these you tube vids! This one could go either way in a quick hurry! Or it could be a war which is what I'm hoping for!

Pretty much everybody agrees with that ... but it's not like $40 will kill anyone...

Martin 07-12-2006 09:29 PM

I think Shamrock could have lived threw those elbows.. Called it a bit early imho.

Nightwind 07-12-2006 10:25 PM

UFC sucks some major donkey balls these days, Pride and K1 are way better.

CamsLord 07-12-2006 11:35 PM

shamrock is a legend regardless

gecko 07-13-2006 07:55 AM

Twice.. tito gave him a beat down the first time, then the quick stoppage

Manowar 07-13-2006 08:03 AM

1:18 was a waste

True, but 1:45 would have been a brain damaged Shamrock. :2 cents:

scardog 07-13-2006 10:37 AM

6 elbows unanswered. How many should the ref give? 10? I say he made the right call. If you want to win a fight don't get in a position to get 6 undefended elbows in the face. I'm a shamrock fan too.

Vitasoy 07-13-2006 11:13 PM

Two times. Shamrock should hang them up
