Good news for Beatles lovers

Apparently there are about 80 HOURS of recorded material from the Beatles recovered recently that has never been heard outside the studio. According to the radio report I just overheard, if I heard right it was some former Apple employee that had them.

We could be hearing new Beatles tunes soon if true.

Drake 07-12-2006 06:23 AM

I hope it's true. I wonder how many new classics it would contain.

Evil Chris 07-12-2006 06:25 AM

That would be cool...

WebairGerard 07-12-2006 06:33 AM

That would be great. 80 hours worth would be quite a few songs. Got to be some winners in that mix.

Ben_MN 07-12-2006 06:37 AM

Whats it gonna take to reunite the beatles....?

.....just 2 more bullets ;)

just kidding, be great to hear this stuff

Also probably a lot of shit ... hence why it wasn't released by the Beatles...

mind you ... the fucking Beatles are horrendously overrated anyway.

So... you wouldn't give it a listen?

In 80 hours of recordings there has to be a gem or two, at least you'd think so.

As for those who said the Beatles are "overrated", I find that it's mostly young people who don't get them and never will who say that, or people who weren't ever into them in the first place. Wonder why eitherr type would bother to click this thread. :1orglaugh

While the Beatles aren't quite the exact era I was born in, I can assure you, I'm not that young. I have a massively wide and open minded musical taste. I play guitar in many styles and am not limited to listening to rock, pop, jazz etc. I will listen to whatever I think is good.

I didn't say the beatles were shit ... I did state they were overrated. And I'm sorry, but they are. People make out that the beatles shit didn't stink, and I have to say it, but they wrote some utter fucking crap. They came around and became big in a time when music was a certain way ... the popular music of the time was blown away by the beatles. So what? Does that mean they're awesome? Not really... it simply means they filled a hole where it needed filled. The Beatles did write some nice pop songs ... but many of the 'classics' bore me.

That's what I mean by overrated. The fact that so fucking many people think they're all that when in fact, they weren't.

DesignWise 07-12-2006 09:01 PM

that'll be great... how true is that?

MaddCaz 07-12-2006 09:01 PM

80 hours is LONG

You really had to have lived through that era or at least part of it before knowing how "all that" they were.

Your opinion is noted.
