1,000,000 dollar award

I have been on a trip for the past five days visiting friends. One of which just received a check for 1,000,000 tax free dollars as his award in the PG&E case that was pushed by Erin Brockovich (Julia Roberts played her in the movie about the case) back in 1993. Actually this is his 2nd award, the first one being 105,000 dollars. Nice piece of pocket change.

He is a housing contractor and also is a part time consultant for some company and said that he is giving up contracting but will continue with the consulting. In other words he is going to kick back and enjoy. He is 48 years old.

Depends what his cost if living is, If he already owns his house and it's cheap where he lives it would be easy to retire if you were smart on how you spend your money.

He is a housing contractor. Owns his own company and property wise he is worth a couple of million, so combine that with one million cash, as well as his consulting fees. He will live a more than comfortable life from now until his death.

if someone gave you $1mil you could put it somewhere and relax while it collected major interest, or even invest half of it and have enough for your children to live off of.

there is SO much you can do with $1mil to make grow REALLY fast

Yeah 1,000,000 can be sufficient
If you put it in a bank and get 3% interest you make $2,500 a month.

In alot of counties you can live pretty well for $2,500 month.

$1 Million would be pretty cool, but I prefer to earn it instead of winning or getting in court

notabook 07-12-2006 05:22 AM

Put it in a 12 month CD, and you make $5k a month off of it. Most places I have visted, you can live pretty nice w/5k a month as long as you don't go insane with your spending.

MaddCaz 07-12-2006 05:25 AM

awesome. I'll lose some teeth for that

The guy is a contractor... he prolly have a nice house already paid for, and everything else...

If his business is any good, it will run by itself pretty much (He'll hire a good dude and pay him a good cut).

And the interests of the mill pay for your taxes / food and a lil traveilling.

curvestar 07-12-2006 07:41 AM
