Why isnt sex publicly accepted and do you think it will change?

Lets face it - look at sex, its one of the most natural things in the world.
so why does it have such a taboo image?
Its gotta be along the lines of eating - if you dont eat you die, if people don't have sex, people arent created.
Yet why is it that having sex is not accepted in public? why dont people walk around naked.

Im sure religion pays a huge part, but why did religion go against it.

All those questions which are likely to be unanswerable.

But do you think sex and everything that goes with it, pornography will be accepted.

what I mean is that in the 1900's 2 people holding hands on a bed, was like ooooooooooooooh wow, shit they shouldn't be doing it. Now that is perfectly accepted. French-Kissing in the street is now accepted, surely being followed by homo kissing. What will be next, maybe hand jobs in the street.

But do you believe in how many years so, sex will be accepted and that people can easily talk about it - grandmother talking to grandson. Strict boss talking to low down employee.

Which goes along the lines, surely of pornography being accepted. Already we see couples using pornography to help their sex lives, which in the past would not have happened. May somehow in the future kids be allowed to legally view it. Will many couples view it together, may more than we are seeing today.

Im sorry about the jumbled-up-ness of this thread, im trying to put all these thoughts coming into my head into a few paragraphs.

give me your opinions- just trying to probe into the minds of those leading the "revolution" and also those who have nothing better else to do like me.

Learn to put your thought together on Word first.

j/k

As long as there is religion, this will be an issue.

MaddCaz 07-11-2006 07:32 PM

it wont change. Not in America

I think much can be summed up to religion/moral issues, as well as jealousy and insecurity.

People tend to want to control what they are afraid of.

Have you watched the movie Kinsey? Fantastic film, really shows how the attitudes of MOST of the population have changed over the past 100 years.

That being said, there are still people who seem to be against sex, and there probably always will be. Religious people mostly. Their opinions are the same as the opinions that dominated society in Kinsey's day. Places dominated by religion, like the middle east, are basically at the level the US was at 100 years ago.

I think most of it is about how a person was raised, and their personal experiences. Most "anti-sex" people don't understand how to have sex properly, almost never have it, and are incredibly jealous of those of us who are comfortable with our sexuality. People are afraid of what they don't understand.

Like the gay haters for example. Lots of people assume that they're all closet homosexuals, but I don't think that's necessarily true. I think most of them are worried that they MIGHT be homosexuals, so they just want to see homosexuality shunned from society.

Sex is the most intrusive of several things which are part of our genetic inheritance and remind us that we are basically just another species of animal. That we do not like such reminders is evidenced by the way we regularly convince ourselves that we are making decisions, when our behavior is in fact entirely instinctive. One of the most interesting books on this topic is "The Human Zoo", by Desmond Morris, in which he demonstrates how we even share much of our body language with other species.

Thus fundamentally we are all uncomfortable with sex, whether we are prudish or claim to be open-minded. Both are ways of acting as if we are in control, rather than driven by genetic imperatives.

i remember a time back when i was walking in copenhagen, denmark and seeing two hot blondes posing naked in a fountain with women and children passing by and thinking man they are crazy!!

the next weekend i came across those exact girls in a section of the newspaper
and that blew me away! right then my sweet former danish girlfriend tells me denmark has close to no rapes or murders every year.

Because religion is run by old men who can't get it up and jealous of those who can.

Simplistic answer but think about it for a second.
