I am looking to become a server admin Any suggestions on classes?

I have two routes I would like to take.

I could either go thought the networking side.. A+ Net+ CCNA + CCNP+ Security+

Any suggestions what classes to take..To become that server admin?

I did A+, MCSE+I and CCNA, all home study 6 years ago,

If I had to do it over again I would do, Solars\Unix Admin, Oracle DB Admin and CCNA and CCNP.

Then again it depends on how much money you want to make being an admin, the best paid guys are Oracle Admins.

CISSP or try SANS.org, security is the area to be in.

Yeah, grab an A+... I was going to but forget that.

Is this simply for you to have knowledge or for your work/future careers? How come no one wants to work for themselves anymore...

I am doing the LPIC exams right now, lpi.org. Figured I would start with a more generic linux cert to start and then move into getting certified in different flavors. A quick and free one to pick up is the ATSA from Adtran. AOS is pretty much the same exact thing as IOS so I found it as a good starter for the CCNA exams.

I am just finding it hard to get callbacks on stuff.. dont have a college degree but have been working at ISP's/Hosting companies for the last 8 years so figured it was finally time to get some sort of paper work

I dunno, why don't you search Myspace for advice?

Well, I have a HS Degree.. and I went to VCC but I didn't like the way classes/school was setup.

I went NHS At a Tech School studying cisco systems.

Figure I don't have a college degree I might as well get the certs so I can atleast say yeah I have this and this and work experince with that...
