i fucking hate car dealershipppss

holy fucking hell

we traded in our 99 honda for a 06 chevy
nothing fancy
just something newer

it took 3 days to get this done
we got a place to finance us with a small down payment
so we thought we where good

today almost a month later the car dealership calls and tells us that we got denied thru the place that said they would finance us .. WTF ? how does that happen ?

We paid to get insurance on this car already
we've had it for a month
now they are telling us to come back in tomorrow to talk to the sales manager about getting it taken care of....

so we have to go back tomorrow at 8:30 am and get this fixed ... WITH a child with us cuz our normal baby sitter isnt gonna be around tomorrow
:-/

i am STRESSED

The dealerships pull your credit and based on your credit report they judge how well you will be financed. This can happen weeks after you get your "loan". This is why the paperwork you signed doesn't specificy where your loan is coming from.

I don't see how they can do that to you. After you sign the paperwork and drive off the lot, that car is yours. Some states have a lemon law or whatever, but nothing that goes back an entire month.

When you visit the dealersip, I wouldn't bring the car with you.

dealersip = stealership

Do you have the ownership?

If the vehicle is in your name, I would get this situation fixed at your convenience, not theirs.

:2 cents:

Fuck them if you have the title in your name the car is yours. If you lose money you can go to small claims court for damages.

I had this same deal happen with me when I bought my Durango R-T in 2000

Went to the dealer with my 97 Thunderbird LX to trade in on the Durango. The salesrep did all the work ( running the numbers, getting the paperwork together, how much my trade in owed, would sell for, etc )

30 days later I am driving to work in my new truck and I get a call that they were $2500.00 short and needed the money and the truck returned to the dealer.

I told them that if they can produce my car that I traded in to them in the same condition that I gave it to them in then I'd consider coming down that weekend.

The dealer said he'd have to talk to his boss and get back to me.

July 22nd - It'll be 6 years since he was to get back to me :)

I'd tell them to get fucked.

yes this guy would have taken care of you. You may not have any money left but you would be set.

I worked in auto sales for about a year. Ugly business.

We use to call it special finance. Means your credit score is probably fucked but just good enough they thought they could hagle and pull favors to get you approved somewhere.
We had it happen a couple times while I was working for a dealer.

Make sure they can get your trade back. It will be long gone by now. Sold at auction and still setting on some other dealers lot if your lucky. They'll have to actually buy your car back for you from the other dealer. Don't sign anything until you've had a chance to look over your old car or are happy with the money they'll give you for it if they can't get it back. Don't expect anything back from insurance costs.

If you are financing the car, there is NO WAY IN HELL that the car is titled under your name. The title would have been waiting for the banks name. YOU DONT OWN THAT CAR.

BV 07-11-2006 06:39 PM

There is no advantage for the dealer for you not to get financed. They want to sell you a car. They actually make a point or two maybe more on the back end (loan)

Sounds like your credit is not so good or your debt to income ratio is maxed out.

Don't get me wrong, car dealers are ruthless. (i did it long long ago).
But remember the bottom line, they want you to get financed so they can sell the car and make money. They will almost do anything to make that happen.

shermo 07-11-2006 06:47 PM

Ouch... Strange how that happened. Get your car back first before you let them make any moves.

I don't know how it works in the land of the homeless, but in Canada you own the car and the lender has a lien on it.

Only if it is leased do you not own it.

The credit history is not perfect but not bad

the guy at the dealership i talked to today said come back in at 8:30 and we will find another way to get this deal to work.

They had no problem cashing the 500$ cehck given to them as a down payment. :disgust

but i am guessing like it was said before
they thought they could go ahead and get it approved and went ahead drew up paper work had us sign took our car and prayed that it went thru
and now that it didnt - they are wanting us to come back in to find 'another'deal

someone epass me 15k so i can have an easy day tommrow :winkwink:

sharp 07-11-2006 07:04 PM
