Japan Photos - Crazy Snaps [pics]

Well, my inta-web is still crap [ie, no email, and spotty wireless], but I've been busy taking some snaps.

This time - a few temples, including the famous kinkaku-jo, and two abandoned theme parks - totally amazing places.

The first has been closed for decades - lost in the mountains, it's been totally taken over by nature again. The go-kart tracks are moss covered, and the ferris wheel has been left to rust.

The second ferris wheel is massive, and just amazing. Managed to catch it on the full moon, the lighting was perfect.

There are also so schoolgirl / guys that came across us and chatted in english to us, and i stumbled back in japanese.

Anyhow -

Firstly, random pics-

Nice photos as usual. Actually the temple name is Ginkaku-ji. Did you get to Kinkaku-ji too?

The Kyoto/Nara area is among my favorite places in Japan. If you can get to Hiroshima, it is quite interesting as well.

Hey mate!
Thanks for the comments - sorry bout the typo, just gone 3am.
This is / was definitely kinkaku-ji - havent visited ginkaku-gi :)

I've got Nara planned for tomorrow or the day after - and we're driving to nagasaki via hiroshima, so hopefully i wont miss a thing..

Been dying to find some good okonomiyake places :D

Where else have you been in jp?

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 07-11-2006 11:20 AM

Correction, the unadorned temple is Ginkaku-ji (silver temple), and the gold colored temple in your photo is Kinkaku-ji (gold temple).

I lived in Japan for nearly five years, and I travel there every few years with my wife to visit her family which is spread all over Japan, so I've seen much of the country.

My wife makes good Okonomiyaki. Her family home, which has been there for hundreds of years, is in Shimane Prefecture, not so far from Hiroshima.

The oysters in Hiroshima are really good too, depending on the time of the year.

Can't wait to see more of your shashin...
