How do you store your content?

I got hundreds of CD's & DVD's of backedup content. I put them all in the Slim Cases, so you can't really tell what's in them unless you read the top, so if i want to find something i have to go through them all.

Anyone have any good storage solution ideas? or should I jsut throw them in labeled shoeboxes?

make a catalog using EXCEL (or some similar software) and label the CD/DVD according to that file....that is the easiest way I could thing of...

Cheap solution: Notepad.txt file. In the .txt file, have a numbering system 1-xxxxxxx, with that corresponding to CD #. On CD/DVD #, write with a sharpie or use a sticky label system with same # as in txt file.

Expensive solution: Get data carousels that can store about the same amount as a dvd/cd folder, but uses a similar system to a notepad.txt system. Will automatically disperse the dvd/cd from the data carousel when you request it.

Ya, I've seen those. I don't need to get to them often enough to need that yet, I think the #ing solution may be the best idea for now.

Likewise, I have close to 1000 cd's of content - but I keep'em all organized in large binders made for disks. Each one holds 100 disks. And I use a Sharpi marker to label the front of the disk with all the sub-folders (and sometimes a brief descrip).

I can generally find almost anything within a matter of minutes.
