Would you pay a fee for an ad free/skin free GFY?
 

Nothing against PerfectGonzo, I've made some sales with them and they have great content. This skin isn't even that bad compared to some.

However if you could access GFY w/o any ads, skins, pop-ups etc, would you be willing to pay a membership fee to do so? I would. I wonder if texasdreams could make something like that an option.

I love the board colors i can actually read threads without squinting but the Background needs some work :)

personally I'd rather see the sigs than the ads. Sig info tends to be either usefull or entertaining, the banners and skins and flashovers are just annoying to me and end up getting ignored - I suspect many gfy regulars do the same.

I vote no unless it's 100% customizable by the user. That being said, with the amount of money that sponsors pay as well as how much the occasional skinner pays... heh, I don't know if there would be enough financial reason for them to have a two-tiered system.

Yeah that would be nice. A premium server with a good search function... I'd be willing to pay $100/year or so for that. I'd bet if full search functionality was offered as a paid option alot of people would be willing to pay something for it.

No way. GFY is not worth paying for anymore. Maybe 3-4 years ago.

Those of us who actually use this for a business purpose and not solely for amusement get annoyed with this shit because it interferes with normal functionality.

It's like working at a place where you have to do research and read reports, and every few weeks someone decides that your work environment would be improved if you had a blacklight, a disco ball, and a strobe light in your office. With the occasional large sign hanging in the middle of the room to bump your head into (flashover).

I like seeing the big promos programs do, the different styles of sigs that are flown. Always gives you some ideas for promotions yourself. Plus its always good to see who is making moves in the industry.

Depends what the fee would be, how popular that side of the board becomes, and whether or not sigs were allowed. To make the main GFY completely ad free would be really expensive for the users. There's no benefit to GFY to do so.

while i can see where your coming from , but don't you think that's a bit selfish , you think GFY was created just so you can do business ? what about GFY wanting to do business to continue giving you a place to conduct your business

well of course it would be if someone were asking for an ad-free version for free... however the question was would one be willing to pay a fee rather than view the ads. whether they get revenue to keep the site going from advertisers or from the members shouldn't make any difference

GFY is way too worthless to put a price on, besides between firefox features and the options on the board you can strip this board down to text only.

i have sigs disabled, flash disabled, sounds disabled, animation disabled. loads fast for me ;)

I could care less...it is just a skin, the real content is still here, that is all that matter
