Whats the name of this shark [PIC]
 

Went fishing saturday caught this baby shark which i thought was just so sexy, ofcource i let the little guy go but i just wanted to know whats the name of this shark. Its not a leopard shark its something else, it had 2 spikes on its back...

From it's features I can guess it's probably in the nurse shark family (a bottom feeder) mostly feeds on crustations (crabs and such)

unless of course it finds a nice hunk of something else stuck on a hook :upsidedow

i dont think its a zebra.. the definitive mark about this shark is the 2 spikes on the back

ya its a def from a nurse shark family (bottom feeder), it had very small tiny teeth something to crush things with :)

Its a swell shark.

Used to see them all the time diving on Catalina.

i dont think it's a nurse, but i agree that it has similar characteristics. the biggest problem is we cant see the tail. Nurse family have a heterocercal tail. this shark does have some distinctively wide fins. Let me look in my shark book.

From the fins it does not look like a shark.

Is it an Angel Shark? Seems to me that is what it is.....eyes on top of head, sandy brown in color, angel wing like pectoral fins......

Here is a big Nurse I caught. (not on purpose) Probably weighed around 150 lbs.
I fish for mainly RedSnapper & Grouper and occasionly these guys will take the bait.
