While I agree with the point in general, I think that's a little too easy.

It's one thing to be called a slut, or thought a slut by one particular person. When you actually become LABELLED a slut by the populous however, whether it's right or wrong, both men and women are going to look at you differently and in many cases, TREAT you differently.

That can be difficult for even the most self assured person I'm sure.

So, that leads to the questions of why anyone else should care is somebody is a 'slut'? Why does it, apparently, warrant different treatment?

When the people you pay to hang around you are twice as many people as normal.

I'm just asking the question after a few threads this week using the term as an insult for women that line the pockets of the people in this industry.

I don't think anyone SHOULD care what other people are doing, and those in question SHOULD'T be treated differently. But unfortunately I think that's simply the reality.

So I could see why some people would care if they were thought of as a slut.

I've said forever that people are too worried about what other people are doing and saying, when they should be directing that same time and energy where it's better suited...directly at themselves.

That's why I hate reality television. It's showing what I think are some of the absolute worst qualities of society today (gossip, backstabbing etc. etc.) and passing it off as entertainment. When a society is taught that this IS in fact entertainment and people can BENEFIT from these traits, what hope does the next generation have? I only see things getting much, much worse.

That is why I said I would have qualified as a slut to many people in the past because I was in a swinging relationship. I have only been with a few people really but the mere act of swinging would make me a slut to many. I have only ever had unprocted sex with two people.

Many on the board seem to think of hardcore talent as sluts. Plus mean that in a derogatory way. Yet these are the people that are helping these same people make a living. Kinda hypocritical it seems.

Then there are all those "Would you hit it?" threads. In that case, she's not a slut, she's hot!

Then there is name talent like Jenna Jameson. Would you call her a slut or ask for her autograph?

Call someone a bitch if she is acting the part, but show some respect for those that are part of the industry.

Thanks, though I didn't start this to see if anyone thought I was a slut. I really don't care if people think so or not because I am comfortable with everything I have done in my sexual life. Just hate people showing such disrespect to the women in this industry.

People should only care about what other people call them if it is true, anything else is jealousy or resentment. As for this industry calling women in porn sluts, sometimes that is done to entice surfers because, lets face it, to some surfers a slut is a good thing ........ it means "attainable to them" more than disdainful. It reminds me of that joke....what's the difference between a slut and a bitch?

Nobody I have ever had sex with has called me a slut as a bad name. Maybe people who I've never fucked have called me that name, but how would they know? I keep my affairs private.

I think for most people, it's just another derogatory term, like bitch, c*nt, asshole, et cetera. The fact that a person reacts to the insult is the problem -- it makes people believe there is something to the story and encourages them to use it again.

But I like to think of slut as a term of endearment, said between lovers to tease each other about their lust for each other. If only the haters would let us keep this word as a happy, respectful one! *sigh*

Who cares about labels? What is it their business who is pumping you or how many people are or have stuck it in your openings?
