Are sites like MySpace good for bringing traffic to the internet?

I have friends that do not even own computers that have a MySpace account and check it at their friends house from time to time. These are people that probably would have never started browsing the net until something excited them like MySpace. Now you got all kinds of people that are growing use to sitting on their asses playing with MySpace, when they get bored with that all these people are going to start looking for more interesting stuff on the net since they are exposed now. They will run into our PORN for sure and we WILL ALL MAKE MORE MONEY, right? Discuss.

This could be true. I get sent links sometimes on MySpace that have adult stuff on them. By people seeing this stuff more and more they will be more likely to except it like we do.

MySpace is for kids!

Yes they are. You'd have to be tripping to think otherwise.

ANything to get new demographics comfortable with the internet, and using it regularly is a good thing.

But those kids will be adults someday and the quicker they can become familar with the internet the quicker they will spend on it.

The only thing myspace is good for is getting everyone into one place so we can easily be censored.

If you don't think that's what Rupert Murdoch's plan is, do some research. They already censor some political speech they don't like, alone with anything negative about myspace and news corp.

If you don't believe me, set up an account an use it to talk badly about news corp.

They're using it to get us ready for Internet2.

Everyone thought Bush was an idiot when he "internets". Nope, we're the idiots. He just knows what's coming and let it slip.

Internet2 is going to be super high speed, rumour is that testers are able to download full feature movies in under 5 seconds. It's also going to be cheap.

The only problem is, you're going to have to be certified by the US government to run a website. In other words, they want it to be controlled, like how TV is now.

Once it's out they'll do everything the can to make the original internet slow, expensive, and basically unusable.

The elites who like having control over us HATE the internet with a passion. It's basically the only medium left where regular people can speak freely and be heard. They're going to do everything in their power to stop us, and if history serves as a guide, we're not going to even notice until it's WAY to late.

Burying your head in the sand and hoping for the best is how good people let bad things happen.
