I would somehow feel ashamed of winning the worldcup after having played just one good game in the whole tournament. This is how Germany used to win, and everyone kept bashing them for it. This time the only team that came up with a couple of great performances was Germany and ended in 3rd place which - also new for Germany - made them have a huge party... :thumbsup

Oh, and just imagine what would have happened in Argentina or Italy if one of their key players had been taken out in the semi final without any real evidence of wrongdoing and without listening to the key witness. Argentina would have said it's a FIFA conspiracy against them, and Italy would have talked of corruption (which they understand quite a lot about). Heard anyone in Germany complaining?

Ok, maybe 1 1/2 but before the final they had just one really tough game...and while I agree they were very effective they were not inspiring at all. The second half against France was simply bad and they were lucky that France didn't have any strikers.

Congrats to Italy! They played a great game. However, if there is any fault with the game of soccer, it's that games are decided with penalty shots. They should change that rule... too much luck involved in using penalty goals as the deciding factor.

BS, they proved themself during every match in the cup. Allthough I have to say that France was more aggressive during the second halve of the game yesterday and I had hoped they would have won a little bit.

But you can't say they did not deserve the cup
