hova 07-09-2006 01:21 PM

seeric 07-09-2006 01:21 PM

yeah, that shocked me to.

what the hell was he thinking? i couldn't believe that.

whatever the guy said to him had to be sharp tounged enough to make him do that.

slapass 07-09-2006 01:22 PM

LAst time he gets to play and he fucks up like that? the guy is fool. He will miss the shoot out now too.

J. Falcon 07-09-2006 01:22 PM

That was fucking dirty. What a way to and a great career. Just cause of that now I want Italy to win.

Mr. Romance 07-09-2006 01:24 PM

yeah bad move....his last game as well and in the world cup finals...

Mr. Romance

slapass 07-09-2006 01:25 PM

BlueDesignStudios 07-09-2006 01:26 PM

exactly..very stupid thing to do but the story isn't told until we know what he said.

hova 07-09-2006 01:28 PM

one of the worst moments of the tournament, the funny part is that Zidane has done things like this before. Even as a young player for Bordeaux he once kicked a player in the nuts for making racist remarks.

And since Matterazi is known for making racist remarks......

Maybe it is a Europe thing but here there is nothing he could have said.

Relish XXX 07-09-2006 01:32 PM

it doesnt matter what he said. Zidane head butted the guy.

WiredGuy 07-09-2006 01:33 PM

He deserved it for that headbunt.
WG

Violetta 07-09-2006 01:33 PM

I bet that italian said: "Im gonna eat your kids" or "Juicy D Links fucked your wife"

hova 07-09-2006 01:34 PM

ofcourse it doesn't matter, Zidane is stupid for letting Matterazi get to him. Everybody knows Matterazi is a great trash talker (I remember some Inter games where he even got subs to try to kick his ass, and he likes that shit).

but he is still one of the greatest

DirtyProfits 07-09-2006 01:35 PM

Well Zidane grew up in Marseille in a bad quarter called La Castellane, in those ghettos you have to fight and don't learn not to react like that just because of words.

Exactly. There's no justification for that.

Sarah_Jayne 07-09-2006 01:44 PM

Well, he had his punishment which pretty much comes down to costing his team the World Cup and ending his playing days in a cloud.

footmonkey 07-09-2006 01:44 PM

Its his last game for France, its the World Cup Final, its overtime, its almost penalties (he's a good penalty taker)... what an idiot.

He goes from hero to zero instantly in my book, especially now that Italy won!

kaktuz 07-09-2006 01:45 PM

dumb fuck, what a way to finish his career

Dr.C 07-09-2006 01:46 PM

Awful way to end his career :uhoh what an ass :)

polish_aristocrat 07-09-2006 01:46 PM

poor Zidane :(:(:(:(

I wanted him to become the man of the man, a true hero

he was so close.....

hova 07-09-2006 01:46 PM

this moment will soon be forgotten and he will be remembered for being one of the best players of the last 20 years.

Do you know anything about his career? Sure, this moment will be talked about a lot...but in the end, he is one the greatest and that will be remembered

loco12 07-09-2006 01:51 PM

Le Frogs get what they deserve! ( though Henry is a great player for Arsenal and honorary Brit!

Not sure how old you are but after ten years your career becomes a one liner. He will become, "the guy who headbunted in th eworld Cup final and lost if for France." ala Bill Buckner.

Don't think my age matters here, but I think you are wrong. I have followed his career since he began in Bordeaux and he will be remembered for other things then this. But time will tell.

slapass 07-09-2006 02:00 PM

wow they are fast. look at last lines

To most people this will be bigger than maradona's hand of god that he is remmebered for.

No man, im sure about this. he will be remembered for being responsible for losing a world cup final on his last game by headbutting a player.

wrong

thats like saying Maradona is remembered only for the goal scored with his hand

im still sad though :(

polish_aristocrat 07-09-2006 02:08 PM

I dont really like France nor Italy, but i wanted Zidane to proove that he's a true legend and hero, one of the best players ever, and retire in a wonderful way

hova 07-09-2006 02:09 PM

we'll see....I don't give a fuck how people will remember him, I will remember him as being one of the greatest. And so will people that love and know football, the masses (ignorant fucks that they are) will probably think different.....

me too, me too.....

but Italy did deserve it, when you look at the tournament and the fact they had the best keeper, defender, and midfielder(s)

I resemble this remark as I am new to football but this was a bad way for him to end it.

Theo 07-09-2006 02:27 PM

smarten up

he did on purpose to avoid penalties

Maradona and Pele are remembered for being the two best footballers in the world.. and most people seem to agree on that

Maradona scored a goal with his hand but in the same game he scored the goal which is considered the most beautiful goal in the worldcup final ( or in the worldcup ever - not sure about it )

that weren't my times, but here's the goal

https://youtube.com/watch?v=zg3uS...aradona%20goal

some ppl say Zidane is one of the top 5 players ever, but its hard to judge exactly since there were so many great players overall

but i am pretty sure he's in the top 20 or even top 10

:upsidedow
