trying to make it feel upscale. The girl in the pics is just there to test it with photos... I know it's not complete, just wondering if you all think it is worth pursuing as an Asian solo site design.

Looks allright, I would lose the top or try to shrink it down a bit, your wasting to much first impression space with the band at the top. Gotta get some pics in there to capture the surfer and make him scroll down.

Im bored, so I'll give advice again.

Lose the "border" around the model. Bring her OUT. On the left side. Use a really eye-catching photo. Then use the basket weave bit as a BG/holder for nav buttons or photos, but make it stand vertically. Probably on the right side.

You can put the text somewhere in the middle. Nav buttons beneath it, and a collage/type banner/whatever design on top. Then put the title of the site on the upper right corner.
