Pirates of the Caribbean 2 Expected to Beat Even Spider-Man's Opening Weekend Record
 

Pirates 2 is set to best Spiderman's No. 1 opening gross of $114.8 million.

Judging from early matinees, the word is out that it will be the biggest opening ever!

I dont think it will beat spiderman, imho..

I wonder if it's going to be worthwhile. A really good sequel is a rare thing.

I thought Aquaman beat out spiderman at $116k

The 1st Pirates of the Caribbean was a good movie, lets see how the 2nd will do

I'm actually 99% confident that it is going to beat any spiderman, judging ONLY by the midnight showing that sold out every theater here in Houston. Not to mention this movie was one of the best, if not the greatest action movie ever made. I saw absolutely no faults in it, and they are calling it the Empire Strikes Back of our time. I've never liked spiderman so I doubt any of his movies will compare. Pirates 3 is supposed to be the juggarnaut of the trilogy..

Really? It made me laugh, thinking of all those damned Transformer toys I used to buy the manchild.

I didn't think "The Guardian" looked too bad, but it was nothing I'd go see in theaters. I don't care for theater experiences overall, and will generally only go to see Johnny movies or munchkin-appropriate movies.

Actually I'm pretty sure it's already happened. I was there for spiderman and it wasn't nearly as popular as Pirates one and especially Pirates 2. As I've said, Pirates 2 is being compared to the Empire Strikes Back of our time, which speaks volumes about it. Not to mention it sold out theaters almost as much as Lord of the Rings(not as close as part 3).

looks like its gonna happen, rice master. shattered the previous opening day record by 5 million dollars! opened to $55 million in ONE DAY, besting Star Wars 3 by 5 million! Amazing!
