I have to agree this is very frustrating. THey definitly need to do something about it.

And smokey, other big boards that are running vbulletin with more features aren't lagging that much, and there are some much bigger. Go visit big boards and see for yourself. If it has something to do with vbulletin, it's somebody here that do something wrong with it... I doubt it's the case.

Yeah, GFY is slow from time to time and by that I mean everytime. But yet we all keep coming back. So what does it matter.

i thought it was just me because last week i started a forumn on speed and no one wanted to saying anything. i often want to check up on things but i get to tired of waiting once i click a link and nothing happens so i usually close the whole program. 30 secs is max for a page to load

I think the double post software they installed to inflate the stats has high overhead.

reinstall Win. It helps.

there are VBulletin boards that are 10 times larger then this one and they don't run as slow its not the software unless it had to be modified to accomodate that much traffic

who needs search? google spiders this often and with google cache you can run really descriptive searches and find exactly what your looking for :)

works fine for me.
