there is no good antivirus, best way is update windows regularly and dont download from unknown sources :)

Someone has to be pretty damn cheap to not spend like $20 on antivirus software. Definately a "must have" piece of software and worth the money. Losing all of your data to a virus would be teh sucks :2 cents:

have you ever used avg before? it's picked up any viruses i've ever had in the last 5 years.

AVG is hands down the best. eats up way less system resources than mcafee or norton and blocks out just as much as the others do

Avast! is by far the best free anti-virus program I've used. They have constant definition updates, usually no later than weekly, sometimes daily depending on what new viruses are being seen in the wild. The only annoyance that really sucks is that Avast! makes a huge annoying sound when it finds a virus, you can change or turn it off though thankfully. I have mine screaming atm "AARRRRGH, A virus be detected Matey."
