( she Almost Died ) " You Saved my Life "

I was over a friends house for the 4th weekend to swim, eat, drink and watch fireworks.

some young kids were in the pool swimming when I noticed a young girl under the water and can't swim, I immediately jumped into the water and saved the little girl from death. I had my cell phone, wallet, passport, money...etc... in my pockets at the time. nothing was damaged completely, my cell phone died for like 2 hours then I dried it out and it worked fine. The girl was coughing up water and in 5 minutes was able to speak and she said 'You Saved my Life' I will remember that forever and I?m sure the girl and parents will to.

I hope you had a great 4th and really it's not about you all the time ;

kids are great, but you must keep your eyes and ears on them always.

:)

Nice story, glad the little girl is ok and congrats to you for your fast thinking. If I were you I'd be feeling pretty great about now :)

LauraLee 07-06-2006 09:20 AM

Incredible.. thank goodness you noticed her underwater. It is an astounding statistic when you learn how many children die in pool drownings every single year. I believe it's the #1 killer of kids 4 years and under :(

Huge props to you for being there.

thanks, I feel great and have saved several people. one old man was choking on his meal next to me another time. I gave him the heimlich and a HUGE piece of steak came out. the owner said thank's to me and took care of my $120 dinner tap, that was nice, as I do see him often ;-) but the old man should have chopped up his food more ; glad he was ok, he was very thankful and greatful ; I just hope when I'm in need (if ever) I get the help. it's like carma

:)

Trixxxia 07-06-2006 10:03 AM

Good stuff XonDemand!

Here on the nightly news there's a story a week on how someone drowned or almost drowned and how important it is to NOT leave them unattended & the importance to have someone who knows CPR just in case there's a misfortune. Pee in your pants if you have to - get everyone out of the pool if you have to - put it on lockdown but DON'T leave any child in or around the pool unattended.

LittleSassy 07-06-2006 10:36 AM

very heroic...only a few people you can see these days

Did you beat the crap out of the parents for not watching her?

I see near drownings almost every time I go to a public pool. The last time a couple days ago a lifeguard rescued a girl about 1 1/2 and the Mom came up to them about two minutes later with a "it's no big deal, no harm done" look on her face. The time before that the lifeguard took several minutes trying to find the Mom after he pulled a kid from under the water :disgust

Bottom line, if your kid can't swim you need to be in the water with them watching them every second.
