Anyone ever lived in a TOWNHOME

How was it? as far as neighbors, music playing and shit?

Not much different than living in an apartment.

not really, if you live in a quality builders house you'll barely hear anything given they build firewalls correctly betweent he units and other methods of sound dampining. look into the builder and ask them. granted as long as the house isn't 10+ years old.

I live in a townhouse. I'm single and live alone, but everyone else here has 1 or 2 kids. There's too many cars all the time, too many noisy kids all the time, and I pay almost as much as I would if I had a single family detatched home.

It's not really noisy as far as hearing the neighbors unless they're vacuuming directly against the opposite wall or something uncommon like that. The outside noise is something else though as I said..

So do homework on the other tenants I'd say. I'd consider a townhome as a jumping off point to your first house, unless you're older and downsizing because you're tired of maintaining the lawn and plowing snow.

Yep, bought an end unit... best advice, buy a home with a real yard.

I live in a townhouse as well. Minus the gossip and everyone knowing everyone else's bullshit which I guess is normal, its not so bad. I dont really hear much, unless my neighbors are doing laundry.

Never lived in one myself, but have had plenty of friends in them. Sometimes worse than living in an apartment, but in square footage, sometimes better. Just depends on construction.

Myself personally, I would never living in another apartment (or townhome) again by choice.

:2 cents:

I lived in a townhome, and I would always suggest buying a home over a townhome. I hated only having windows in the front a back of the house, plus there was always a battle for parking! Hope that helps.
