Site Owners - How did you get started in the industry ?
 

I am curious how all of the site owners got started. We all started somewhere, just curious what their background is in. I know some of them started as talent <cough> pimpdogg <cough> and a good bit others got started by shooting talent. So please share your story and let us know how you got started in the adult industry.

If you are not a site owner but know how one of them got started in the industry please feel free to share their story.

I personally was building sites in another field of the online industry. I was looking for a trading script to track the incomming in and outs... and I found the first versoin of UCJ (1.0).

It crashed my server in about 5 minutes, but I found adultwebmasterinfo at the same time and started to learn about the business.

We started Kastle Archives Productions in 1999 when a friend suggested we should have a website that showcased all the fantasy bondage illustrations we'd been creating since 1995 (the BBS era).

The company itself began as a proprietorship, and we incorporated it a few years later.

So we reg'd the domain, made it a free site (initially) and had it hosted for free through Go Casino.

But within a month we were exceeding the 2gb/day bandwidth Go Casino gave us, so we switched to paid hosting in Great Britain, changed to a paysite format - and progressed from there.

Since then we've expanded to four sites (2 pay/2 free)...and switched hosting once again to North America (2 hosted in the U.S./2 hosted in Canada).

I was 9 years old and an ANSII artist for BBS, some guys gave me money to design erotic ANSII art for them, which I did (funny how a 9 year old can think up of that type of shit)... anyhow, 11 years later, I had been a video editor for quite some time and wanted to change fields, get some extra income.

Doctor Dre told me about this place called GFY and that I should just go there and tell people who I was and what I did.
