Someone that knows PS from front to back??

I have photoshop cs, and I have run into a problem. When opening a photo that is supposed to be vertical, PS opens it, and turns it horizontal. It renders my actions usless, and slows down my work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program, and I have checked the settings in the options against another machine that has PS, but does not do the same thing.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

bump for you

ever think it was your monitor software, my monitor turns vertical
maybe yours is programmed with drivers to do the same

Twisted Dave 07-04-2006 03:05 PM

No... doesn't have anything to do with the monitor ...

I don't know what it is ... but I know it's NOT that ...

:)

Nope, It does not do it to ALL photos. Just some.

Come on people. A little help.

Sounds like it's using exif data. See if there's an option to disable exif data usage in PS options.

i have also witnessed this before in photoshop... very fucking strange, never figured it out.

good luck to you.

Thanks Chio, but that DID NOT do the trick. I even rebooted the program.

very simple actually . . its the camera. go to the camera that shot the images and shut 'auto rotate' off . . end of problem :2 cents:

Thanks, I had a feeling that it was. But this is purchased content that I am working with. So do you know of a way to stop it?

I know what you are saying with the resize, but that really does not stop it from flipping the image on it's side.

Search for posts by BoyAlley. I am pretty sure that he answered a very similiar question in another thread. :) I can't recall what the answer was.

The thing is, in image viewer the image is fine. It when PS Opens it, that it rotates. the image displays FINE before PS.

pornguy 07-04-2006 09:48 PM

That was not the answer. I have that changed. The thing is, that the photo im image ready or the image viewer show just fine. Its when I open them in PS that they turn.
