Are Americans Structured To Fail?

Consider that before an American leaves their teenage years, if they enter college they're required to go into debt for tens of thousands of dollars. Upon graduation they incur more debt, get married add more debt, have kids add more debt, buy home, add more debt. Add to that the wishy washy job market and lapses in time where health insurace is available. Business taxes and such and so on.

It's like if a guy take one step ahead he's two steps behind.

Is this due to inefficiency or some structured plan to keep you all in tow?

xlogger 07-04-2006 11:40 AM

I dont think so, i already paid off my college loans and car loans.

The business tax, well, if you know how to play around with taxes a little you wont be paying much at all.

Rochard 07-04-2006 11:58 AM

None of this is true, depending on how smart you are.

You can join the military for four years and get some of the benefits for the rest of your life - GI bill and interest free home loans.

I did four years in the Marines, got my education, got my interest free home loan, and by the time I got married I was able to pay cash for it. Since then I've stayed away from credit - no real need for it unless your buying a car or a house.

scottybuzz 07-04-2006 12:01 PM

i hate people getting credit "for that new kitchen or holiday they always wanted"

pfft fucktards

shermo 07-04-2006 12:05 PM

How is this true? I went to college, got a degree and am getting married. My only debt is my house (which is also an asset) and a car which I don't pay much for.

You don't have to follow the trends to be American.

Its called delayed gratification. If you want something nice, you have to contribute to society and earn it.

Its actually a system that rewards american's far beyond any other system available. What you described is the sole reason immigrants are continuing to come to the country. Now you see why America is the only superpower in the world, in just 230 short years.

Thanks for being 100% wrong and proving you dont understand whats going on around you.

This is a good illustration on how conservatives and liberals think differently.
You see our system as setting up for failure, I see it as setting up for success.

Egomancer 07-04-2006 12:09 PM

Yeah, FunForOne, until you have an accident and can't work for 1 year. And then the house, the car and everything is gone...

That doesn't happen to conservatives. They don't get sick either. They're like supermen.

DUH??? :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Amazing the fountain of knowledge that sprews forth - covering every topic from immigration to conservatives and liberals. Just awesome :winkwink:

Greg B 07-04-2006 12:25 PM

I know Webby, I know. With all his right wing rhetoric he failed as usual to notice the topic was formed as a question not a statement.

Any excuse to spout some shit and someone will barge into a thread and try to fuck it up.

minusonebit 07-04-2006 12:25 PM

Not all of us follow the plan prepared for us.

work harder, get a savings account, buy disability insurance. Every problem you can throw out, I can answer with delayed gratification. Most american's dont realize the difference between wants and needs. That is the problem.

You want a new big screen television, you want a $50,000 car, you want a $250,000 house. You need transportation, shelter and food.

It was a question, I answered it. I made fun of your train of thought that led to you posting the question on a message board. Most people figure that out and move on to more complex issues, not you.

Its not my job to educate you idiots, but I sometimes do it anyway. Not once have you ever thanked me.

In answer to the thread title, no. In answer to the question in your post, no. Responsible adults do relitively well in America.

Man.. understandably you are a superior being and a fountain of knowledge on all aspects of life. I hope you don't get a pain in your neck looking down on mere mortals as you attempt to educate.

You got to be joking or insane - your arrogance and flippant bullshit deserves no thanks in any way. Awesome, but funny post! :winkwink:

I need to become more responsible with my investment money!

This post MADE my 4th of JULY!!!! Thank you so much! I clicked on this thread thinking oh shit here we go again, America sucks America is bad, no one believes what they see, they see what they want to believe and seek out to see failure. You just nailed it right there. Thank you!!!

I was thinking about the 230 years, we are such a baby country compared and everyone says we are going to fail as the ?king of the hills? we haven't been around long enough for that to happen give it another 1000 years or so maybe even longer, but your kids and their kids an their kids and their kids and so on will be able to enjoy the freedom to become a millionaire if they work hard. As long as the socialists don't take over and start taking our money and redistributing it to people who don't want to work hard.

Anyway I want to thank you for a well said post!!! :thumbsup
