Has the Word Cup affected your work?

I am not a full timer (yet), but it has been difficult to get work done these days.
There are three cable chanels showing only the World Cup; matches, discussions, images from the past and from around the world; I could easily spent 24 hours watching them.

I am happy that Americans donīt like footbal. If one night of superbowl affects your sales, could you imagine what would happen if the AOLers watched the World Cup?

What is the world cup? isnt that a yacht race?

Amputate Your Head 06-03-2002 03:09 PM

what is it?

hasn't affected my work, cuz I don't even know what the fuck it is.....

boneprone 06-03-2002 03:31 PM

They should re-name it the

"3rd World Cup"

volante 06-03-2002 03:35 PM

"Word Cup"? Is that where they keep that fucking annoying paperclip?

hahmike 06-03-2002 03:37 PM

most of the yanks are too busy jerking off over the kings/lakers thing. whatever sport that is. :winkwink:

Beastiepoo 06-03-2002 03:39 PM

Ignore the short sighted americans. It isn't their fault really.

Not bothering my work as my hubby works from home and keeps updated as things happen. Personally I'm not overly interested anyway but IF I wanna know the score I just ring him and he tells me.

No, the word "cup" has never affected my work. Should it?

I guess so, the short sighted Euros think it should!

Mr.Soze 06-03-2002 04:12 PM

sure have changed my "lifestyle"...
Here in Norway the matches are on from 0730 in the morning and
that's when I normally go to bed after working all night :)

But it's worth it :BangBang:

I'm with you: All sports are good exercise for the participants and a total jerk-off waste of time for everyone else.

Didn't mean it quite that way.

What I meant was that you shouldn't expect the rest of the world to be totally involved in American sports just the same as we don't expect you to be totally involved in our sports.

To each his own but don't assume that everone in the world cares about the basketball when you don't care about the football (soccer).

haha how true..
I personally cant stand watching soccer.. i LOVE playing it but watching it is not fun at all.

90 minutes a match.. 1-0 in the end.. yuck. It takes them sooo long to get to the opponents side.. the defense just pass it back and forth to each other, then idiotically kick it up very very high to the other side so it can be easily stolen away, the other taem can get it, and do the same thing the other way
geez

Steve 06-03-2002 04:29 PM

nope. not one bit. Now, the Stanley Cup, that is another thing...
