does selling dvd's hurt member sales?
 

Thinking on selling dvds of the footage of hffg on one of those we do all the work dvd sites. Have you experienced that hurting website sales or are they two different beasts?

I wouldnt imagine...

I would think that it would be like apples and oranges...the content may be the same, but the delivery is so different...I know some of the webmasters here have amazing monitors, but your average paysite member is working with a 17-19 inch monitor, I'd say, that your member's area content will be viewed on. But DVDs are going on televisions and I'd say most home have at least a high 30's inch tv. Even I have a 56 inch HDTV and I'm just making ends meet, lol.

So, while a DVD may deliver quality that a paysite (usually) can't touch, the frequency of updates and the personal interaction on a personality based site delivers more intimacy, and I believe most members crave that and that's why they seek out personality based sites.

I don't have actual experience, though, so don't take my word for it. I'm just kicking ideas around.
