Teen Seriously Injured By Firecracker In Pants
 

"TAMPA - A teenager was seriously injured Sunday after someone put a lit firecracker in a pocket of his pants.

Derrick Underwood, 16, of Tampa, was visiting his sister in the 1200 block of India Street, where 20 to 30 people were throwing fireworks at one another about 9 p.m., Tampa Fire Rescue officials said.

Underwood ran for nearly a block with his pants on fire before removing them, fire officials said.

Paramedics took him to Tampa General Hospital. He suffered second- and third-degree burns on his buttocks and left thigh, about 10 percent of his body, officials said."

Quite easily in fact. When I was a teen we used to have bottle rocket wars with one another, so one day I brought my hunting vest and stored all my bottle rockets in the back pockets for easy access. A friend of mine's shot into my back pocket of the vest, caught all of them on fire, caught the whole vest on fire. Pulled it off just in time before the fire spread to my other clothes. That was the last time I participated in a bottle rocket war. =(

I almost never feel sorry for people when they do stupid shit like this and get themselves hurt. I do feel sorry for the taxpayers who had to pay to send emergency personel to assist this idiot. Left up to me, I'd have let him burn.

i have to drive to tampa to get fireworks becuase tampa is the only place it's legal to buy them in the tampa bay area.
