Chess, Risk and Stratego are my 3 favorites. I don't like any card games. The less left to chance the better the game for me.

Colin do you play regularly on line? If so can you recommend any good sites?

I began playing at age 5 in Germany against all the U.S. Army personnel when my dad was stationed in Heidelberg. Have not played much lately though. My brother and I had games that lasted for days sometimes.

Stratego and Feudal were our next favorite games. Fuedal was made by the 3M company in the seventies and was very similar to chess but up to four people could play. I still have the game in mint condition.

One of those was the under-8 US champion (he is 7 years old). He totally seemed disinterested in the game and outlasted 16 other players. His parents said he "doesn't even know what it means" to play Kasparov yet.

I don't play online at all. I only play against HIARCS, which is an excellent chess program which plays quite human-like chess.
