I flew in a P-51D Mustang
 

yesterday. What a blast. I recommend it. Just thought I would share.

Mustangs Rock... Where the heck did you find a Mustang though? :)

Airshow. Did a couple of loops, barrel rolls, and flew at more than 300 miles per hour 50 feet off the runway. Good stuff.

There was two D's and one H there.

I'll recomend it to mustang lovers.

That would be amazing, congratulations on getting the opportunity.

Did you take any pics or anything, I know someone who is a pilot and LOVES P51's..

How did you get that opportunity? I have flow in a T-60 but I have never seen any mustangs to go up in.

Here in Kissimmee, Florida there is a guy with 2 P51's and some others and not only can you fly in the but he will teach you how to fly the P51... almost everyone that owns a P51 (including Tom Cruise) we're taught to fly by this guy. But it's VERY expensive, like 4k or something

Very cool, lucky guy. Actually that thing can do about 450mph which is pretty wild.....

As an ex Army officer, I've gotten lots of "free?" helicopter rides. My fantasy is to go up in a high performance fighter some day.....

I grew up around P-51's : my father was a crew chief for one back in the day and whenever an airshow was within a day's drive of us (or longer, as in the case of roadtrips to the Smithsonian Air & Space museum in Washington or the Air Force museum @ Wright-Patterson) we were there.

Nothing sounds like a P-51 and its finely tuned Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 roaring overhead
