butterflybucks 07-02-2006 10:24 AM

the 4th? Let's hope it doesn't add to the Fireworks show!

Quagmire 07-02-2006 10:24 AM

I can think of faster and cheaper ways to blow up scientists.

ContentSHOOTER 07-02-2006 10:25 AM

They were saying a few days ago on CNN that if they lose another one they may shut the entire program down.

MrKinkade 07-02-2006 10:27 AM

they should be extra careful they've lost two and they said if one more vehicle is lost the shuttle program is dead for good... and they still need them for 4 years

Time for a new program anyway. A whole design makes sense. That's prolly in the works, just haven't been following NASA that closely.

Let's hope this one goes off with out a hitch. You couldn't pay me enough to be on that crew.

OzMan 07-02-2006 10:32 AM

It sucks but the weather can't be helped. I was thinking of going to see this launch as it might be the last but glad I didn't as I 'd probably be there for a week waiting instead of a couple days.

...A July 4th liftoff at 2:37:51 p.m. EDT (1837:51 GMT) on Tuesday carries the best chance of launching Discovery this week, said U.S. Air Force Lt. Kaleb Nordgren, of the 45th Weather Squadron at Cape Canaveral Air Force Base.

Let's hope there won't be any fireworks from the shuttle on that day. :thumbsup

They should have launched yesterday, it was a beautiful day. I think NASA just wants to launch on the 4th of July. :)

BoyAlley 07-02-2006 11:15 AM

July 4th would be a great day for a shuttle launch anyway.

gooddomains 07-02-2006 11:16 AM

they should finally bring a new shuttle type up tp use

Cyndalie 07-02-2006 11:22 AM

I like the shuttles they used in Armageddon, but they should be using ballistics or better launching techniques. Be cool if it could launch into the upper atmosphere piggybacking one of those new bigass Airbus or something. Hell we have so much technology and space is the future to our survival as well as for finding means to live more efficiently. I hope things go well on the 4th!
