Ever thought of moving to California?

Don't do it man. The weather sucks, the ocean is poluted, prices of everything are way to expensive. My advise would be to totally bag it and don't even ever think about it again. :thumbsup

MrIzzz 07-01-2006 06:25 PM

Too muggy in the summer and too many bugs. I passed up FL offer for CA offers.

MrJackMeHoff 07-01-2006 07:44 PM

you can have hawaii for about same as cali. no reason to consider anything less.

dissipate 07-01-2006 07:45 PM

Im in boston now and moving to San Diego in a month. Why dont you like it?

bringer 07-01-2006 09:27 PM

socal sucks. move to central coast in cali near grover or pismo beach. cheaper housing, perfect weather, quiet and plenty of parking. also a few miles from san luis for a decent party town nightlife.

czarina 07-01-2006 09:30 PM

San Diego is a very pretty, and nice city. Clean. But the weather is kind of crappy. The ocean is way too cold to enjoy, and the water is not hat clean, thanks to their southern neighbors. The prices are so absurd that it is amazing. And for no reason.

Try Oregon.

Theo 07-01-2006 09:43 PM

how do you get a whole ocean poluted? this is kind of hard to believe.

Rochard 07-01-2006 09:49 PM

As a young boy growing up in NJ I always dreamed of moving to California. When the oppertunity presented itself, I did it, and moved to the Bay Area outside of San Fran. Beautiful area, still has seasons (somewhat), no smog, NO FUCKING SNOW, although I couldn't afford a house there.

Moved to Phoenix for five and a half years. Loved the friends I made there and had a blast, but hated the heat in the summer.

I recently moved back to California near Sacramento. Love it. It's a bit chilly in the winter (still no snow!), nice in the summer, no smog and not much traffic.

California rocks.

Actually the only good thing about CA is the weather, but everything else is ok . Rent and buying a house is expensive, the average price on rent where I live is $1900 thats for a 2 bedroom, and for a house to buy is around a million.

HouseHead 07-01-2006 09:58 PM

Oh man the traffic blows here in socali. All the streets are crowded to shit. And the gas prices blow balls. Damn it to hell. But it is a nice place other than all that junk.

wtfent 07-01-2006 10:00 PM

Ohhhhh I Wish Theyyyyy All Could Bee Caaaaaliforniaaa Girrrrrrls..........

Gabriel 07-01-2006 10:03 PM

Easy SR - Ya just have a good flow of shit going into it on a daily basis over a few years and it builds up nicely :winkwink:

Seriously... it's a major problem - not just on the Calif coastline either. Analyze a sample of the crap water and there are trace elements of birth control pills, viagra (serious), prozac and all kinds of human effluent which is never actually treated.

The effect on sealife is awesome - fish high on prozac and a cocktail of birth control pills and viagra. Got to be kinda confusing for them :winkwink:

LaurieX 07-01-2006 10:16 PM

I've been living in San Diego for the last 4 years. I am moving back to Florida next week. I actually miss the rain.:thumbsup

jesse_adultdatingdollars 07-01-2006 10:36 PM

I love it, SD baby. I know you were being sarcastic to keep everyone away :) That is cool, but we all know thes best in the west is SD Cali!

madawgz 07-02-2006 12:20 AM

not really, im happy in canada :)

Shey 07-02-2006 12:30 AM

Sory guys but SD rocks! Most of the people that are currently living here and say otherwise is probably to deter everyone else from coming over. We are kinda full.

Joking aside, San Diego is the jewel of SoCal, people here are chilled out and the weather makes you wanna get up and enjoy life almost everyday of the year. Expensive? Yes, Worth it? Fuck Yeah! :rasta

I could not agree more. I lived in Carmichael for 6 years before moving to SOUTH DAKOTA (WTF is wrong with me?). The wife and I plan to move back as soon as the kids are done with school.

She has taken a job near San Jose which starts this month so she will be jetting it twice a month till we move.

California rocks.

Eva and I were recently offered a job in LA. to run a companies content production and management. We were offered $120K plus bonuses and we could still shoot for ourselves a bit. So we looked at the pros and cons.

:thumbsup Things.
Weather is nice. bit hot in the summer but nicer than here.
Weekends, so much to do every weekend.
Shopping, we both love to shop. Mostly clothes.
Live near Mum and brother. Got family and property there.
Near LV.

:( Things.

LA models. Worlds fucking worse, well the worse I ever shot.
LA people. After shaking hands count finger, when talking turn the BS blocker to max.
Schools. Unless it's private it's a crap shoot. We have a 4 year old.
Smog. They tell you it's better. It used to choke slowly, they slowed it down a bit.
Crime. Need I say more?
Traffic. You have to drive 50 miles to get anywhere and it takes half the day. No wonder you see people eating, drinking, doing make up, phoning in their cars. They live in them.
Cost of living. Need I say more?
Living and working in The Valley .....................

Told them we wanted $250k plus big bonuses. Thankfully they turned us down.

I love CA for holidays, but could never live there.
