Seriously.. of course, - there is far more to life than bundles of money at that level. It almost means very little.

Folks don't have to be zillionaires to do some good - there are plently ways to be constructive, and, in turn, this always seems to reflect outwards into some community or other. It's not to do with personal "status" or anything like that either - more common sense.

We got a couple of things going where you are he-fox, - there is a "gain", but the major overall aspect is in benefitting others and preserving the ecological sustainability of areas with the help of a few international orgs - stuff that publishers like National Geographic describe as "the most ecologically intense place on earth".

There are loads of ways for folks to have positive input and the entry level is not necessarily $50 mill in the bank :winkwink:

i guess there comes a point where there is only so much money that a person can spend , better to put the money to use rather then sitting in a bank

i think there comes a certain level of wealth which sorta crashes through a sorta ceiling. the money is not so much about buying yourself things to make yourself happy. it becomes about power and influence. but what's weird is i don't think there is a linear continuum. i think there is a hard line, somewhere. above a certain amount, you're not really your own person any more. there is just too much EFFECT to everything you do. ti think these super-rich guys might even hate it on some level, dream of a simpler existence. i think that's what fuels a lot of this stupendous philanthropy. but what do i know, i'm a pauper livin' off blogs and adsense.

I think his heart is in the right place. I think that once you obtain the amount of money that Bill Gates has, and you're normal, you begin to realize that the power you have enables you to have a humane legacy that will be remembered for all time. Once you have the biggest house and the most expensive cars, and enjoy the best of everything everyday (including hot women), there is little else you can buy for yourself. I mean, you could spend a billion dollars on a wedding if you wanted to, but why would you when there are so many better uses for it. You can change lives on a scale only matched only by entire governments.
