Rooney should he have been sent off?
Should Rooney have been sent off and would England have won if he had stayed on?
|
Yes he was sent off correctly.
And no, England would have not won, because he didn't matter on the field. He's only a useless overpaid violent little pitbull fucker. |
It depends on what the referee told him after the shoving. If the referee warned him that he'd get a red card if he didn't shut up then "Yes" he should have been thrown off. If the referee simply said that he didn't see a foul then he should have gotten a yellow card.
Yes, England would have won if Rooney shut his mouth but he's an emotional guy. |
Not sure we would have won even if Rooney had stayed on, the manager Sven is an idiot, no clue what to do with this team (possibly the best on paper). He shouldn't have been sent off, Ronaldo's got a lot to answer for. Not sure if they showed it anywhere else but the BBC showed Ronaldo headbutting the back of Rooneys head BEFORE the game started trying to wind him up then he ran to the referee just before Rooney was sent off.
Would love to be a fly on the wall at Man Utds first training session next season |
I don't know, will be interesting to see the verdict on it
|
he steped on the portuguese player's ball....so he really should have been sent out
|
|
He didnt get sent off for the tackle he got sent off because his 'team' mate begged the ref to send him off before Rooney pushed him away.
Personally I would have sent the 'grass' 'whiny' 'bitch' Ronaldo off. |
Pissing my sides. Please dont

I have watched it again and again and come to the conclusion it was an accident. There were two players fighting with Rooney for the ball, one fell down with Rooney who tried to get back up very quick and just put his foot in the guys bollocks.
If that C U N T hadnt gone and begged the ref for the red card Rooney would have been ok. Ronaldo did it on purpose then winked to the his bench to say 'yeah I got rid of him'. |

Ronaldo purposely got Rooney sent off. This is him winking to his bench to say 'job done'. Fuck him I hope Rooney lumps the fuck out of him when he gets back to Manchester. |
Whether he should of been sent off or not is irrelevant. The facts are the best English team, on paper, struggled all the way through the tournament.
We had one striker who has never played for his club side or in the top flight, never used. We had three other strikers, two with suspect fitness, one went to Germany unable to start the tournament. And one forward who has never shone for England or scored a lot of goals. We continued to play midfield players who were clearly not performing, when eventually one comes the performance improved. We failed to beat Portugal who are the weakest of the last 4 and far weaker than England. So who is to blame? |
He should not have been sent off. Rooney scores goals. If he had stayed on it may not have gone to penalties.
Personally cheating little fucks like Ronaldo I hate. He is pure nasty fucker who winked at his mates after destroying a guy who is supposidily his friend. |

Watch it in slow motion. There is no way Rooney meant to step on the guys bollocks. |
Yes, Rooney should have been sent off.

Like in Euro 04.... like in Euro 96.... like in WC 86.... fuck off, your problem is you THINK you have one of the top teams in the world, but you never had one since 1966, and even then you pulled some tricks to win at home. England is all hype. Benfica (I hate them) kicked off Man UTD and Liverpool this year, Sporting did the same to Boro and Newcastle last year, Porto to Man UTD before that... you guys really suck, your best team is the best because of Mourinho :winkwink: Have some respect for the better team :upsidedow |
Eriksson said he spoke to the ref after the match and said he understood why the ref gave the red, but he didn't elaborate as to the reason(s).
Anyway, regardless of whether or not he should have been sent off England certainly improved after he had gone, playing their best hour of the whole tournament. |
whats wrong with asking the ref to give someone a card they deserve?
are refs swayed so easily by bitchs? dont they have a brain to think for them selfs, or was it one look at the ugly bastard and thats it :D |
It shouldn't have been a red card, as Rooney didn't stamped on the player but kinda lost his footing, noway was it a sending off.

From a non-soccer fan perspective:
It looked like an accident in a way. That crap happens on every play in American football. But soccer seems to be about falling on the ground, holding a body part, and crying like a 2 month old. It seems to work a lot. I think I'd like soccer if most of the guys who played weren't crying pussies who spent more time whining then playing. |

He's got the loosest ass in football!
|
Rooney was fouled. Carvalho wrapped his legs around Rooney's so he couldn't pull free. Cheating fucking Portugese divers and whingers ruined football again, like against Holland.
Hope they lose to France. Yes, I am a bad loser but Portugal showed nothing in that game. The only decent chances were England's. It is a shame, but let's move on, no need to go on about it... New captain, new coach, let's see if we can change our formation and personnel a bit and improve! |
for the record...
I dont think it was a sending off, but i dont think it made a blind bit of difference to the match. Rooney has failed to score against a lot weaker teams that portugal. Sven got it totally wrong. I like hargreaves, but with him playing, they virtually had 3 defenders marking pauleta, n then a guy up front who needs a free roll behind strikers. If you cant see that and think that england went out of the world cup because one guy told the ref there was a foul then you are nuts. Evan |

from me .. an english guy who watches football a few matches ever 2 years, just to support england at worl or euro cup ... i dont think rooney did it on badness, it was shameful to see him surrounded and fighting for posession without the support of any of the rest of his team, who stayed well back. I think he didn't stamp as much as a balance issue, specially as this other guy went down and was wrapping his legs around him.
As for Ronaldo, I think this insodent was just to get him what he wants. First he got rid of the big threat, hence the wink, and secondly he wants out of old trafford, and now knows a fight with rooney when he gets back will force a hand and he will be let loose and go play for a spanish team. so yeah .. give Rooney a few games suspension but leave it at that. As for the rest of em .. I would drop Lampard off at the airport and get him to taxi his useless ass home .. Also good riddence to beckham who is total crap .. all he's any good at is passing a ball and being sick |

So suck it up. Evan |
Please tell me about Owen's dive, and notice you have to go back 6 or 7 games to find an Englishman dive, yet you could go back 5 minutes of game time to find a Portugese diver.
Guess it bodes well for the Olympics! :winkwink: |

Thanks.. :D |
put it this way, rooney is as thick as dogshit. He was playing against portugal, known for diving/unfair play. What does he do, goes fighting for the ball with 2 players, dumbass imo, not as much as the coach tho.

If they could have they would have got a penalty, they find the 18 yard box even slipperier than the rest of the pitch! |

One of Rooney's strengths as a player is desire, will and determination. The ref was duped. Whether it has affected the outcome is anyone's guess, but will always be conjecture. Time to forget it and move on, I just hate to hear that Rooney deserved red and that Portugal deserved to win the game. Portugal are in the semis. I won't be cheering them, but at the end of the day they are through. It is over now time t enjoy the other matches now. |
