Unix users need a little help.
When I either telnet in or sftp the system will only allow the idle time for like 20 seconds before it cuts off my connection. Then I have to log in again.
How can I change the idle settings? If no activity in the window it will at least sit for 2 min or so. |
/etc/ssh/sshd_config
Uncomment #ClientAliveInterval and put a number e.g. ClientAliveInterval 120 |
oh and restart ssh
|
ping... pong...

no that's not it, what distro are you using?

If you are using OpenSSH, you should be able to use ClientAliveInterval
Just add if you don't see it uncommented. (ClientAliveInterval 300) and then reload/restart the service - /sbin/service sshd reload (depends on distro) |

Try '/etc/init.d/ssh restart' (or sshd or something like that) to reload the SSH server - should work on most distributions. |
