Internet Model Convicted of Public Nudity
 

LINCOLN, Neb. - A local woman who operates a porn Web site with a history of arrests for public nudity was convicted Thursday on the same charge.

Melissa Harrington, 23, of Lincoln, was found guilty of indecency under the city?s public decency ordinance and now faces up to eight months in jail when she is sentenced on Aug. 2, according to KETV-TV.

Harrington is known for her porn Web site, www.melissamidwest.com which features public nudity and girl on girl porn.

Police said the woman was arrested after she conducted a wet t-shirt ordinance in a local bar while topless last March.

Harrington told the court she was not nude since her areolas and nipples were covered with pink paint.

But a Lancaster County judge said the paint did not properly cover her because it was transparent.

Prosecutors said she violated a section of the city ordinance prohibiting the ?showing of the female breast with less than a fully opaque covering on any part of the areola and nipple.?

In 2003, Harrington gained notoriety when she was first arrested for violating Lincoln?s public decency ordinance when she posted topless photos of herself on her Web site. That incident landed Harrington on a number of media outlets including NBC?s Tonight Show, CNN, USA Today and scores of other television stations and newspapers.

She subsequently appeared in layouts on magazines like Maxim, FHM, Playboy and others. She was named Gallery magazine?s Girl Next Door of the Year in 2004.

You might want to do that your self. If she faces 8 months OR a fine, the judge can give her either, or both. He can divide some of it. Or he can give her 6 months. Depending.

I think what will happen, is the 500$ fine, and then on the next incident, she will do some time.

Why people dont just hire the venue out in the day when it is shut and get a location release (similar a model release but legal proof that the venue gave you permission to shoot) I dont know.
