That's because the location of your property is less desirable than a waterfront property.

The Heron 06-30-2006 06:53 AM

I should post when we sell my grandparents house, on st clair river. The house is huge but so old not worth renovating. But it'll fetch a high price, has one of the biggest boathouses on the river and you can't build new boathouses only maintain existing... so yea $$$

Tom_PM 06-30-2006 07:01 AM

Yeah having some lake frontage tacks on quite a bit to the prices if it's a nice lake especially. Even just shared access sometimes.

Relish XXX 06-30-2006 07:03 AM

Isnt Oakland where they were bashing up all the cars in that video a few weeks back?

Helix 06-30-2006 07:03 AM

I would expect he will get every penny of $399,999 he is asking for it. All of the waterfront property in and around the SE Michigan chain of lakes has been snapped up by savy investers many years ago.

Relish XXX 06-30-2006 07:04 AM

BTW that price gets you a one bed flat in London.

a house like that in my 'hood' would be 1.2 mil and it's 25 miles from the water :1orglaugh

latinasojourn 06-30-2006 07:34 AM

if you make your living in cyberspace, 400K will buy you a cliff top mansion and 100 meters of private white sand beach.

and you won't be listening to east oakland afro american boom boxes and dodging drive-by shootings.

but it won't be in the usa.

think outside the box if you desire beach property. the best beach property in NOT in north america.

MakingCoin_Fatal 06-30-2006 07:38 AM

looks good.. interior pictures please!

woj 06-30-2006 04:49 PM

now a days 400k for a house is nothing, worse houses in worse locations go for more than that...

scottybuzz 06-30-2006 04:52 PM

phroarr fucking hell

AVNedison 06-30-2006 04:54 PM

$400K will get you a 2 to 3 bedroom Condo or Townhouse here in Los Angeles.

MikeVega 06-30-2006 04:55 PM

that house on the water by me would sell for $500k easy .. but it would be for the land also ... houses on the North Shore of Long Island are big money ..

Quagmire 06-30-2006 05:09 PM

Was just going to say something very similar :winkwink: Totally agree!

Been working on a project which is effectively as you describe - but got lots more going for it that we now take almost for granted. Bottom line - It's all about environment and quality lifestyle :winkwink:

Young 06-30-2006 05:23 PM

not bad. something like that on cape cod would probaly go for twice that.

Scott McD 06-30-2006 05:27 PM

Crazy prices. But if people have the money and are willing to pay, it's their call...

BlueWire 06-30-2006 05:28 PM

Where do you live? That is considered cheap as fuck in Seattle :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Bro Media - BANNED FOR LIFE 06-30-2006 05:32 PM

Dagwolf 06-30-2006 05:35 PM

Very nice place Dagwolf! :thumbsup

One question tho in the above pic - is that a "natural cloud" and haze above the homes or toxic fumes from them hovering overhead? Suspect it's real - but ya never know :winkwink:

tranza 06-30-2006 05:45 PM

Pretty ugly place....

Does Canada have a SMOG problem?

Yes. In some areas of the country, smog is one of the most serious air quality problems we have. Our problems are not as severe as those in cities such as Los Angeles or Mexico City, but they warrant our immediate attention. The Canadian Ambient Air Quality Objective for ground-level ozone is 82 parts per billion. In several of Canada's major cities, summer ozone levels can exceed our air quality objective. For example, Windsor, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver are cities where the ozone air quality objective is exceeded an average of 10 or more days in the summer.

That house would be ideal in Cali.

Isnt South Carolina a red state? I think it would be scary to live in a state where everyone voted for Bush.

Yeah, that house sucks balls, but it could be a great long term investment if one did as you mentioned and rebuilt a new house on that lot.
