Sponsor programs are best kept simple

Just my opinion, there are a few sponsor programs, some newer ones, and some old, that have such a high tech format that is totally retarded, do the affiliates want to be impressed by their format? no!!!

we want great tools, fast loading pages, easy layout

just my 2cents, i found myself today not promoting a great looking sponsor because the layout of the site is totally wacko and too hi tech

$5 submissions 07-02-2006 01:57 AM

Can the other extreme be bad as well? As in supersimple layout and site "look and feel"? Same tools and load time.

jscott 07-02-2006 02:06 AM

well i think the extremes of both ends are pretty shitty...........average simple, average easy to navigate etc etc is what should aim for...........for example www.dieselaction.com and www.silvercash.com are annoying sponsors to get promo and check stats with

(open shit in new windows, etc etc)

VIPimp 07-02-2006 02:48 AM

I know how you feel... thats why I made FreakBucks simple with everything you need... check it out and im sure you will like it.

butterflybucks 07-02-2006 03:03 AM

abcdollars.com .... =) for the easy experience

jscott 07-02-2006 03:34 AM

thx guys, ill chk em both out ;)

CuriousToyBoy 07-02-2006 03:50 AM

We at http://www.liondollars.com/ keep it simple.

SEND TRAFFIC = MAKE MONEY.

;-)

jds 07-02-2006 03:53 AM

The more complicated the site is, the more time it takes to maintain, so that's less time used for helping affiliates or working on great conversions

adonthenet 07-02-2006 04:08 AM

listen to jscott .. he knows what his saying!

XMaster 07-02-2006 04:20 AM

(do i need to say "see sig"?^^)

Kimo 07-02-2006 04:24 AM

I agree and for example Dieselaction isnt compatible with my opera and Silvercash works, but not as it should works.

gooddomains 07-02-2006 05:31 AM

Last time i checked, when they announced the new version, i couldnt enter with Opera 8.54.

Unsupported browser

Backbase software does not support the browser (version) you are currently using. Please try one of the browsers listed below:

BIGTYMER 07-02-2006 05:35 AM

Here comes a flood of spam from people pushing "simple" sponsors. :1orglaugh

kmanrox 07-02-2006 05:43 AM

i think the look and feel is important... i know 'hi-so' ppl who would buy shit on a stick, so long as it was presented in an 'upscale' fashion.. the steamer on a Gucci blanket with recessed lighting ... you'd be surprised.

Theo 07-02-2006 05:57 AM

jscott, our system is extremely simple to use (still beta mode) and we constantly work on improvements. Currently it works on approx. 99.2% of primary browsers used by webmasters. Although Opera is unsupported browser I believe it's only matter of time to catch up with this; in the meantime you can make use of the classic ccbill interface we offer.

I hohnestly don't feel like defending our decision on proceeding in this major upgrade, but rather further work on making it even better. We have a separated development team that is not related with aff.support and marketing. The so far feedback, traffic and sales increase we get and new affiliate account registrations is just remarkable. Among other large mainstream corp. Google recently started hiring a whole army of ajax developers. Moving forward with technology never harmed anyone imho.

BigTymer, what's Irwin's icq? :)

Our system runs on AJAX and Opera doesnt support it.
This is the only browser having this problem and if you keep getting problem with it maybe its time to have an additional browser installed?
I have 3 browsers installed on all my computers for any case. This is the business you work with and its importnt to have it all.

About complexity of our new interface, we have got few very good suggestions which we are going to release during the week and few of it are already there. If you spend 5 mins to get know it , you will find it as the most simple and yet powerful tool. Technologies are increasing our possibilities , so why dont we get used to it, anyway its getting simplier and simplier every year! Adult industry is so slow adopting any hi tech inventions.

Its been over a year since we are filming HDV content, and when I decided to upgrad all our studios with this equipment, many told me its a waste of money and very risky, while instead of wasting time we learned about encoding the content properly and now I think its pretty clear that HDV is a hit and during the next year will be a must.

diesel 07-02-2006 06:09 AM

And AJAX is used by google microsoft and yahoo and many small companies too.. Its just a matter of time an it will be everywhere..

You are complaining because you use the only browser that is not compatible. Wich less then 2 % of the internet population uses.

That's what I meant by shit browser. Because nobody makes the site to look good for your browser.

I know. I usually use them for some sponsors that are incompatible with Opera (SilverCash and DieselAction).

good reply man..........but still i dont think i'll ever change my mind about this thread..

i LOVE your guys sites they are TOP notch for sure!

but i still think when it comes to porno hi-tech isnt wanted, nor needed, ppl just want good porn, fast...........and as webmasters most of us want to display good porn, fast also

PSGuru 07-02-2006 07:06 AM

If you're running a program and dont optimize for every browser possible, you could potentially lose quite a bit of business.

For the companies I've done work for and the projects I have been on, we have to test every single browser there is and make sure they work properly. IE6, IE7, Opera, FireFox, Safari etc... that 2% of people that use the less common browser could end up being your bigest client/affiliate :2 cents:

Oh and the new Opera 9 now supports Ajax and CSS2 and then some... :)

scottybuzz 07-02-2006 07:14 AM

i think if its complicated it gets better in the long run

No doubt, but using new doesnt mean complicated. It is very simple and I can easily guide you thru the system. BTW we have just made it open in same window and not new :) .. Please check it out and let me know if you like it.
I personally think that in new window you get more working space.
