I saw it a couple of weeks ago. It's ok; if you've got 90 minutes to kill.

Well maybe I was a bit tough. It's better then 90% of the shit the studios put out. If I was sitting around with friends and had nothing to do I guess I could watch it again.

Marcus 06-01-2002 09:33 PM

Nope, I'm not one of them special people. I was just bored and my isp had it stored on some of their servers so I decided to have a screening at my place.

LoveAsianChicks 06-02-2002 05:08 AM

Its on my computer..er, I mean I'll watch it at the theatre and let you know. :winkwink:

Naughty 06-02-2002 05:45 AM

I asked about that movie couple days ago as well. A friend of mine bought it for me last week in Asia, on CD. He also brought me Spiderman and The Rock :)

Those movies won't open here in the Netherlands for months, so it is fun to have them at home already :)

Rotten Tomatoes - http://www.rottentomatoes.com is the ONLY site you need for movie reviews, once you click on a movie selection, they have TONS of reviews from different places like newspapers such as LA Times, Denver Post, Dallas Morning News, and others, they also have reveiws from other websites like the Cranky Critic. Check it out for yourself, here's a direct link to Sum Of All Fears - http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/TheS...Fears-1114251/ Also note that they do have info on the cast members, photos of the movie, and a forum where you can see what visitors have to say about the movie.

They also have new release videos listed on the mainpage also, this is a VERY handy site, I use it all the time and give it 2 enthusiastic :thumbsup :thumbsup

I love http://www.mrcranky.com/

LoveAsianChicks 06-02-2002 10:20 AM

The movie is out-of-date typical US vs Russia crap.
In 2002, movies with Russia playing the enemy is getting old.
:2 cents:
I'm glad I saw it for free & didn't waste money.

Zebra 06-02-2002 10:32 AM

LoveAsianChicks.. were you asleep when you watched the movie? It is not Russia vs. US but terrorists/facists vs. US.. two very different things.. Yes Russians were indirectly involved but it wasn't the standard 80's/90's us vs. them movie. Terrorists are the new bad guys.. I am sure there are going to be plenty of movies coming out in the future where the bad guys are not countries but individuals who hate the US.

jimmy3way 06-02-2002 10:37 AM

People who watch movies on their computers don't know, nor do they care a thing about movies. Movies belong on a screen, a computer is for computing.

The only reason they do it is so when people ask about a movie they can say 'I saw it last week.'

Zebra 06-02-2002 10:45 AM

jimmy3way- I totally agree with you! I have been to every theater within a 50 mile radius and know which one has the best screens and projectors. I try to go to that one for any movie I care to see. With all the money put into special effects and audio effects these days movies are more of a visual and audio experience than ever..why cheapen it by watching it on a tiny screen? 99% of the movies found on the internet were shot with a handheld cam in the back of a theater and they look and sound like it!

Who said anything about watching some shitty encoded avi on the computer. The copy I watched was a screener and it played just fine in my DVD. Watching movies on the computer is for college kids in dorm rooms.

If you don't understand why watching movies at a theatre is better...I sure as hell can't explain it to you.

Just think of all the money you'll save on popcorn.

90% of the movies that come out are crap and are only good for killing 90 minutes with a friend; not even worth the trip too the theater.

I was half asleep and there was alot of distractions around me. The movie was ok, but I've seen so many where America & Russia are about to launch an attack against each other. Yes a terrorist setup the nuke, but right away it was blamed on Russia and felt like a movie I watched a dozen times already. Actually it wasn't too bad, but it wasn't great.

cameraman 06-02-2002 11:41 AM

I have not seen it but heard that the terrorists are Nazis??? Yeah that is real believable. Everyone knows that 99% of the terrorists in the world are from Sweden and have blonde hair and blue eyes.

And then there is a nuclear war with US and Russia. Who is the President? Ronald Reagon?

This sounds like a TV Movie of the Week plot from the 1980's with 2002 special effects.

I think I'll skip it.

Brad Mitchell 06-02-2002 06:57 PM

This movie kicked ass Amp - if you liked Hunt For Red October and the other films based on Clancy books you WON'T be dissapointed!

Brown Bear 06-02-2002 07:16 PM

I saw it today. It was good.

CC 06-02-2002 08:01 PM

I saw the movie tonight and LOVED it. Anyone who thinks that it is about a war between Russia and the US has obviously NOT seen the movie and is just talking out of their butt, lol.
