Why does the HUN post galleries like this?

http://www.22469.com/gallery/celeb015/thehun.htm

This was posted at the Hun.

These are video clips taken from major hollywood movies. This is 100% copyright violation. The Hun must know that, so why does he support it?

This really lowers my opinion of the hun, I've read some posts of his where he says some very intelligent things, but then I see him post shit like this and it makes me wonder what the hell is wrong with him?

Amputate Your Head 06-01-2002 08:26 PM

Brown Bear 06-01-2002 08:27 PM

hyper 06-01-2002 08:33 PM

what he does is his business
what i do is my business
what you do is your business

Darkystar 06-01-2002 08:39 PM

It's funny to see that Hun posts the gallery in such a serious copyright violation and you think it's normal while you blame the other small guys for less serious things.
Ass kissers. :321GFY

Brown Bear 06-01-2002 08:39 PM

Don't you guys care that he is supporting people who steal and cheat?

hyper 06-01-2002 08:42 PM

dude
it's his responsibility
just as it would be yours.

dont tell people how to run their business
just take care of yours

if he has a problem with listing that gallery. it's HIS responsibility NOT Yours.

Brown Bear 06-01-2002 08:42 PM

Yeah, you guys are totally kissing the hun's ass.

I don't like to see people supporting stealing content and cheating so I'm pointing it out to others. Meanwhile, you guys tell me to mind my own business.

Maybe I should go and steal some content and use it. Obviously the hun isn't going to mind.

Amputate Your Head 06-01-2002 08:44 PM

who's kissing ass? I don't see any ass kissing... :eek7

Fletch XXX 06-01-2002 08:46 PM

If we all mind only our own business there would be a lot more crap on the net like CP sites, sites with stolen content, rape etc etc and I'm not talking about real life.
how do you think most of these sites get caught and shut down?
People report them.
is it their business? no. Does it help the industry? yes
hyper when you mistakely hit one of these sites you probably think "Ahh these aren't my kids I don't care not my business"
That's trivial example, there are lots of examples in real life where we shouldn't mind only our own business.

hyper 06-01-2002 08:55 PM

then go report it..

its a simple solution

Darkystar 06-01-2002 08:58 PM

hyper you sound too narrow minded.
I was about to explain you why when posting this message but thougth you wouldn't understand a shit so I better save my time :winkwink:

I agree. When we see people stealing, hotlinking, using CP, etc... we should tell others about it.

The Hun should know better.

quiet 06-01-2002 09:05 PM

this thread uses the word 'business' alot.

pr0 06-01-2002 09:06 PM

Looks like Kid Rock is posting galleries :thumbsup

dipshit moron retard 06-01-2002 09:12 PM

bah if it really isn't obvious enough: although there is no difference between pirated and stolen content in the eyes of the law, stealing someones set of pics or movies of adult content IS different conceptually and morally than cutting out a 1 minute nude scene from a mainstream movie that anyone can watch in any number of ways, dvd, hbo, blah blah blah. You steal someones adult content intended for that market you're directly fucking them, it's money comming right out of their pocket. A horny guy who wants to jerk it isn't going to wade through all of american pie just so he can spank it to the 5 seconds or so you can see of savari's tits. And someone who wants to see american pie isn't going to be satisfied with a 5 second flip of savari's tits. However, someone who wants to see an asian transvestite eat an amputee monkey will be plenty satisfied with stolen pics or those from a legitimate source in a very precise and exact way.
It has nothing to do with kissing the hun's ass and a lot more to do with: http://bbs.adultwebmasterinfo.com/graemlins/gives.gif

Darkystar 06-01-2002 09:24 PM

dipshit moron retard I would agree with you if there were no banners at all on this page and guy wasn't making any money off it.
But he has banners on this page and he is making profit.
In this case I see no difference between stealing "an asian transvestite eat an amputee monkey" and mainstream movies.
Copyright violation in both cases.

Mr.Fiction 06-01-2002 09:25 PM

From what I read, in an article written by an IP lawyer, celebrity content is not illegal if you use only a small sample from a film, like a short clip or some captures, and if you make an editorial comment on it. Then it falls into the fair use category.

I have no idea if that's true, but it's the argument that lawyers representing celeb sites use, and apparently there is some stuff in the U.S. copyright laws to back that up.

However, that gallery really doesn't have any editorial content, so I doubt that they could claim fair use for that specific use. In fact, they're using celeb content to promote a site/product that isn't related to the creator of the content so it probably would be illegal.

If you have a problem with it, why not contact the guy who made the gallery, or the hun directly?

I nominate this as the weekly "mommy, look what the hun posted" thread. :sleep

Pipecrew 06-01-2002 09:25 PM

I got that exact gallery submitted to me and I denied it, thought the same thing as brown bear

if you want to be anti copyright infringement in every sense of the word thats perfectly respectable. however there is a big market out there of surfers who would like to see a collection of naked famous people. where else can they go to get it? nowhere legitimately. someone will always fill this need, always. is it legal for them to be making money off this stuff? no. is it moral? all things considered, i think its a toss up. whos really being hurt by any of it? you can say "the adult industry's reputation", but gimmie a break, you know how much free advertising we've gotten due to the media broadcasting the fact that you can see so many celeberties nude online? you have to put celebrity sites in context, comparing them to joeblow hotlinker or whatever is like apples and oranges.

I'm sure there are a lot of surfers that want celeb content, but stealing clips from hollywood movies isn't the answer.

Here is my suggestion:

Offer them some legal celeb content.

If you can't find any legal celeb content to use. Then I guess you're out of luck.

Here is where the harm is:

Its a copyright violation. (ie: its illegal)

The person who posted that gallery does not own that content, and does not have the legal right to be using it.

foe 06-01-2002 10:17 PM

Ever think he just made a mistake the guy approves more than 100 galleries per day

This hardly falls under the category of editorial comment. It is a clear example of copyright infringement if the site owner does not have license to use it, which I would be very surprised if he does.

I have a feeling that the only reason it got accepted is because of who submitted it, and how much they pay thehun to get their galleries listed.

Just my :2 cents:

Didn't know Ken submits to TGPs/MGPs where he doesn't buy slots on. However, I just saw owner of celeb skin on national TV the other day. He told the interviewer that he just cuts out movie clips off movies and I still don't see his site taken down:Graucho Maybe some loop holes we are not aware of?

all I can say is that you obviously put a lot of thought into the choice of your screen name with that response.

Yeah, there is a solution for the surfer that wants celeb content, get a fucking license to use it. Who knows, maybe Ken did, he makes a lot of money. If he did not, then he is breaking the law, no ifs, ands or buts about it.
