What is the longest you have gone without going outside?

I haven't left my apartment for 3 days. I am a hermit.

mike503 06-01-2002 06:34 PM

2 or 3 days is my limit too.

[Labret] 06-01-2002 06:34 PM

Been there.

Am there.

I hate sunlight for the most part.

[Labret] 06-01-2002 06:47 PM

And liking it.

Pete 06-01-2002 06:48 PM

[Labret] 06-01-2002 06:51 PM

it builds up, just like stress. a snowball effect. the longer you go the worse it becomes.

i'm with labret -- i'm going to get an IPAQ probably w/ a full size folding keyboard -- get used to using it -- then just wait for a real wireless provider..

all i do on the PC is just GFY and and text editing -- I would only need FTP and Telnet apps and I would be set to go to work on a PDA.

kmanrox 06-01-2002 07:27 PM

im surprised ron jeremy has ever ever come outside, seeing as he could suck his own dick... why leave your house?

miss^behaving 06-01-2002 07:35 PM

3 days is about as much of the indoors I can handle....I need sunshine and fresh air.

40,000+ expired names daily plus a TON more

fuel123 06-01-2002 07:49 PM

2 weeks but I had pneumonia it was the worst 2 weeks ever I went out because I couldn't take it anymore.
I guess it sucked because I didn't have broadband come to think of it there was not public internet it was 20 years ago.

fuel

Jamdin 06-01-2002 07:51 PM

A total of 6 days when I had the stomach flu earlier this year...

foe 06-01-2002 07:51 PM

probably like 3 days when I was sick.

phogirl69 06-01-2002 07:55 PM

Probably 3 weeks.... and not because I was sick, but by choice.
People in the real world irritate the living shit out of me.
I like to be left alone much better.

agreed. i enjoy being outside, but when it involves having to converse with people, the majority of the time it's boring and irritable.

CDSmith 06-01-2002 08:02 PM

If letting your dog out doesn't count, then I've gone a good week without visiting www-dot-ouside-dot-com. Try doing this while shutting off the phone completely, thus freaking out your friends and family (if you have em). THEN you'll know what the term "hermit" really means.

And I too liked it. And will again.

That was back when he was skinny.

I don't know if he could still do it.

BabeHunter 06-02-2002 09:38 AM

Paparazzi 06-02-2002 09:39 AM

Burtman 06-02-2002 09:52 AM

Holy shit I can't believe it. I've woke up Saturday hung over to the nines and stayed in until Monday morning. Usually just during the winter, never in the summer. There's too much golf to be played.

boldy 06-02-2002 10:07 AM

Get a dog and Some kids, that will help ... i did :thumbsup

Pathfinder 06-02-2002 10:12 AM

Three months. I have to see a doctor every three months.

Right now I have to go out twice per day as I am having to drive one of my sons to work. He lost his drivers license for a period of time.

LoveAsianChicks 06-02-2002 10:23 AM

I smoke outside - does that count as leaving the house?

Paul Markham 06-02-2002 10:47 AM

:( :( :(

This is sad. Get out at least once a day. Go for a walk, I promise we will all be here when you get back.

The fresh air and execise will do you good and allow you to think clearer, work more productive and make more money.

Of course if you live in Watts, Bronx, Compton, etc. Ignore the above you might keep healthier staying indoors.:) :)

Now I expect to get slammed by everone who lives in these areas. Telling me I do not know what I'm talking about. Hence the two smileys.

Pathfinder 06-02-2002 10:51 AM

I live less than 100 yards from the largest natural lake in California.

DO NOT GO SLEEP WALKING!!

StupidNewbie 06-02-2002 11:59 AM

a week, i would much rather stay inside for these reasons.

at least if you don't like the people you can put them on an ignore list.

no one cares if you talk about your conversions outdoors

i have to fully dress myself to go outside

there is something unsettling about not holding a mouse

the only thing i do worry about is hemroids. i'm fucking terrified of them because i sit all day.

the end.

qdtobbe 06-02-2002 12:05 PM

2 Years and i fucking gone crazy !

Milton 06-02-2002 12:10 PM

Hell yeah,... as I tell my girl. This is all I wanted to do when I was in school. Stay home, smoke out, listen to devil music, and make $.

cameraman 06-02-2002 12:41 PM

I go outside every single day.

But there was a lady on our street that didn't leave her 1-bedroom apartment for almost 30 years. She was the sister of this old guy named "Doc" that used to hang out with all the teenagers on the street corner.

The funny thing was, Doc's sister had no specific reason for not leaving their apartment, she just had no reason to.

Then one day she had to go somewhere and left the apartment like it was no big deal. No celebration, no coming out party. All she remarks was that some store around the corner, which had closed just after WWII, was gone.

There were a lot of nutty people like that in our neighborhood in Brooklyn. Half the people had never been to Manhattan and it was only 20 minutes away by subway.

XXXPaysiteDesign 06-02-2002 01:08 PM

I go outside at least once everyday.. gotta check the mail you know..?

TopTGP 06-02-2002 02:14 PM

I've sit in this dark basement, devoid of any real emotions for days on end. I still leave once a day for educational purposes though :thumbsup

Sly_RJ 06-02-2002 05:53 PM

I have to go outside a few times every day. It's too beautiful here to not enjoy it...

CDSmith 06-02-2002 06:06 PM

Good point about the nice weather. Here in Winnipeg it's really nice out right now, but I was talking about our winters mostly, which last like 5 months out of the year. It's really easy to stay in and hibernate for weeks at a time here. It's great to do that when you snag a nice chick that will bring you shit when she comes over, heh heh.

TheFLY 06-02-2002 06:11 PM

Get out! Move somewhere warmer... Since I moved back to FL I've got out a lot more -- less traffic, more sunshine! -- I've lost weight, gained muscle, got a tan -- and I've only been here a few weeks and I feel like a new person -- shit I shaved and cut my hair and bought some new clothes -- it's amazing how differently people relate...

the jesus-hermit-bearded guy look just doesn't allow people to engage conversation... go figure hehe...

heheh.. i bet if we took a snapshot of everyone here right now at least a quarter would be jesus-hermit-bearded guys sitting in house clothes if they live with someone else like a girlfriend/wife that forces them to bathe occasionally or boxer shorts if they're single :)

gigi 06-03-2002 09:20 PM

It's so nice to know I'm not alone....hehe

I can go a few days, but that's it....typically weekends because I have to take the kiddies to school during the week.

If I don't get out, I at _least_ try to 'do' something around the house like painting, dishes, laundry....hey...at least I get _some_ exercise. ;)

Hemerroids.....eewwwwwe! :feels-hot

Squishy 06-03-2002 09:43 PM

I've been in this chair since I got my first Apple IIe...UPS brings me a new machine every now and again, and I hate food. All is good.
