TMZ has learned that Ashlee Simpson has turned down a $4 million offer to pose for Playboy.

In Touch Weekly first reported the offer, and said the pop star was considering it. TMZ spoke with Rob Shuter, Ashlee's publicist, who confirmed that Ashlee did indeed receive an offer to pose in the legendary men's mag -- but turned it down.

A source close to Ashlee told TMZ the offer was big -- $4 million to be exact.

A newly glammed Simpson is currently on tour promoting her recent album, "I Am Me."

You're underestimating her. According to Forbes she ranked 76th out of the top 100 celebrities for 2005 with $5.3 million in earnings.

Doing even better this year with endorsements and a sophomore album. First one sold 3.5 million copies and counting. (more than her sister has ever sold for an album)

And she looks damn hot lately.

she owes all her success to MTV and doing that show....

It worked for Madonna, why not take the same risk.

Ashlee is a little hottie. Shes a little "alternative" compared to Jessica. Infact I'd bet my money on Ashlee before Jessica would ever do it. While I doubt the talents of both of them. I do find the little "crack" in Ashlee's singing highly attractive :)
