Having trouble

I bought a panasonic vdr-D105 on friday, now trying to copy the video files
to my hard disk, I have the USB cable and I was able to copy the file, but its on a format called "VOR", what software can I use to play or how to I convert to mpeg ??

I am new to these, wonder if you guys can recommend something. Ideally I would like to get a software I can use to video edit/convert ect.
