The Dateline Predator reporter is telling the government that

all the predators they caught are addicted to pornography.

DUH!!!!!!!

just a different kind that he didn't care to mention.

these people don't get it. if you're a predator, you just are, adult porn does not turn you into one.

its kinda like you're either gay or you aren't, you don't decide.

i love how when these people go on these televised government proceedings and blame things on porn. porn has been around since people could scrape erotica art into rocks on cave walls. its not going away, deal with it.

put blame where it belongs, on the predators.

in alot of ways this business brings the heat on itself, i.e. exploiting anything free and untouched for traffic, spam, etc. etc., but we don't deserve this one.

the gov needs to talk to aol about their chat rooms. something tells me that these pervs aren't meeting any kids on AFF.

suck it dateline!

I agree, lets see dateline explain how yahoo chat rooms are also to blame.

xclusive 06-27-2006 08:12 AM

those idiots, It's going to bring a lot of heat on us for no reason:(

Sir Basil 06-27-2006 08:14 AM

I did an investigation of my own over the past 10 years.

* Of over 10,000 suspected sexual predators questioned, 100% had some sort of food consumtion daily

* Of these predators, 100% also slept regularly.

* Over 84% drove cars

* Over 92% at one time had listened to Mariah Carey

Thus, it is our responsibility to wage war on food, sleep, cars and Mariah Carey.

yeah, i saw a few of the shows. they are pretty bad. aol and yahoo and msn are all culprits.

so is myspace and some of the other communities. obviously these idiots are going to "hunt" whereever they know they can find people under 18 so in essence these chat hosts are easy targets.

what will they do about it to stop it is the question.

Drake 06-27-2006 08:35 AM

that sucks, I thought they would do better reporting

chase 06-27-2006 08:38 AM

What pisses me off is that they should be targeting parents who allow their kids unsupervised net access, if they must place the blame somewhere other than where it truly belongs! You wouldn't drop your 12 yo in the middle of Ybor City, and the net can be much much worse. Parents are so lazy, or overworked, or tired, or stupid to be parents anymore. For christ's sakes, you need a license to catch a fish, but anyone with a twat or a cock can become a parent.

Hopefully they'll tell them that a good percentage of them were church goers too. But that surely has no relevance.

How many of them were Republicans? :winkwink:

WonderWoman 06-27-2006 09:21 AM

Man.. .did you see the guy that showed up with his son to meet up with a 14 yr old boy (the decoy)!??!?

I was so disgusted!

seeric 06-27-2006 09:23 AM

if that shit was a capital offense no one would stick their dick where it didnt belong.

electric chairs for everyone of em.

Corona 06-27-2006 09:33 AM

I remember Ted Bundy, manipulating people until the last second, saying that his actions were caused by seeing porn magazines when he was a kid.

The religous wingnuts ate it up.

ronaldo 06-27-2006 09:35 AM

I still say, after watching all of those, that I started to feel sorry for some of the "Predators". What they were doing was clearly wrong, and I won't make any excuse for that. However, it was also clear that some of them KNEW what they were doing was wrong, and were practically relieved to be caught.

A lot of them deserve to be thrown away for life, but some of them MAY be salvageable with some seriously intense counselling (anyone that knows me, knows I'm the LAST person to suggest this method).

But what annoyed me most of all about that series, was sitting their watching people's lives be destroyed right in front of my face. Again, I'm not condoing what ANY of them did, but I started to become increasingly uncomfortable knowing that not only were these peoples lives fucked forever, but also the lives of many of their spouses and children.

I fully expect this to become a full fledged series in the near future, because I'm sure it had monstrous ratings. That in and of itself is disturbing in that we as a society find it entertaining to watch people's lives forever changed for the worse...whether they deserve it or not.

Televised executions are not as far away as one might think.

Just fyi...

3 examples of guys that should go away for a long time...

-the guy that showed up naked
-the "Little" man already sentenced for the same crime
-the man that brought his kid

1 example that I can think of that I felt sorry for...

-the teacher that resigned the very next day (if NOTHING else, he took responsibility for his actions and didn't make any excuses...he left that to his lawyer I'm sure)

pussyluver 06-27-2006 09:39 AM

If you turned off the whole Internet there would still be predators. Therefore the Internet is bad.

tony286 06-27-2006 09:56 AM

OF course its porns fault , no one is responsible for thier lives anymore. I would like to watch the dalteline people confront the parents, why arent you monitoring your child?????

mOrrI 06-27-2006 10:35 AM

I agree with your words A1R3K....

czarina 06-27-2006 10:42 AM

that's so stupid!

It's good for predators to watch porn online, that way they cum and are happy instead of looking for a kid to ass fuck

remember when the wingnuts used to blame rob halford and judas priest and iron maiden and metallica for shit. then it became marilyn manson, then eminem.

its always someone elses fault that people do bad shit.

Stephen King was right on the money with "The Running Man". Every year since Survivor first aired we keep getting closer and closer to it becoming reality.

:2 cents:

mrkris 06-27-2006 11:25 AM

If you can convince the ignorant sheep that porn caused it, it's easier to enforce many restrictions on porn until they make it completely illegal in U.S. It's all part of a larger plan.

My sympathy would go towards the youngsters who might have been their potential victims...had this not been a televised sting operation.

Sorry, no sympathy here for these scumbags. Fuck the therapy. Some quality time with Bubba is what they deserve.

(I can be persuaded that castration is another good option, though).

bdld 06-27-2006 01:36 PM

porn surely didn't cause their deviances.. but it still is true they're addicted to online pornography, so if they're ever going to recover, ridding themselves of that addiction should probably be in their 12 step plan

And don't forget Myspace. Oh, I nearly forgot. They're already taking heat around here.

What I think is that if anything the internet helps expose these predators. Years ago they were still there, just they were hunting in their towns and cities with really nothing to go on for the most part. Now at least if they meet someone online, there's record of it and makes it easier to track down. Granted it sure makes it a hell of a lot easier for them to find people to take advantage of, but that's the parents fault. Dumbass parents not watching their kids.

But I digress. It just pisses me off. Porn has nothing to do with it. I know LOTS of well adjusted adults who watch/look at tons of porn. More than I know of that go to church, and I'm right in the middle of the Bible Belt.

Fuck Dateline. The government is every bit as much a predator after innocent victims as the real bad guys are.

Chris 06-27-2006 05:30 PM

Rrrreeeeeeeeetttttttaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrted

dunefield 06-27-2006 05:43 PM

Hang on I remember a thread with everyone agreeing with the show...

As bad as sexual predators are, the show is just major propaganda...

madawgz 06-27-2006 06:51 PM

well its good their getting caught :)

Maybe castruation would actually be something to consider. I've heard reduces sex drive. I remember reading about a guy in Germany who got high and amputated his own genitalia. When doctors arrived and said they could re-attach it without problems, he told them not to because of "all the problems it has caused him." I always wondered what he meant by that.

The gov't better start closing up the elementary schools and playgrounds.. they're a fishing hole for predators.. More kids there than on the net..

The less invasive method is 'chemical castration' where they use Depo Provera drugs to inhibit the hormones that cause the testes to produce testosterone.

Granted, that only works if the offender stays on the drug.

Apparently it promotes the growth of man-boobs, as well. :1orglaugh
