Iced marijuana tea to debut in British health food shops

Iced marijuana tea to debut in British health food shops

LONDON (AFP) - British health food shops will soon be offering customers iced cannabis tea, its Swiss distributor said.

Sold under the label "C-Ice Swiss Cannabis Ice Tea", the beverage contains five percent of hemp flower syrup and a tiny (0.0015 percent) quantity of THC, the active ingredient of marijuana.

Any ingredient that could put it in the drugs category has been removed and the tea will not lead to dependency.

But British anti-drug campaigners say that selling the tea is dangerous because it will give young people the impression that cannabis is commonplace.

The product was launched in Switzerland in 2003 and is already available in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.

Ahaha, byebye Conservative Britain? Interesting, really since cannabis is still mostly illegal there.

Sparks 06-27-2006 03:31 AM

Hmmm, pretty interesting. I'll keep my eyes peeled for it here in the states.... but I think I will be waiting a loooooooooong time.

What does that story have to do with my statement which was about how gov't (and private) attitudes towards marijuana has changed over the past decade?

Out of curiosoty do even know who Victoria Climbié's was and what happened to her without googling it?

MaddCaz 06-27-2006 05:52 AM

You didn't say much of anything significant or important or interesting really, except that ixesha hasn't been in the UK in the past decade, in response to his/her comment about it being conservative Britain.

Pretty stupid comment to make, as you don't have to step foot in the UK to know a little something about it's politics.

Out of curiousity, what the fuck does -that- have to do with anything about you acting like a bitch and pretending you know it all about the UK?

Doctor Dre 06-27-2006 06:37 AM

There is no point on the war on drugs anymore ... the mexicans working in the fields can't be controlled any fucking way.

You guys should see the history of the war on weed... how fucking dumb

Mike_AWP 06-27-2006 06:42 AM

They don't count the active chemical THC, as something that would place it in the "drugs category" ?

I have no idea what has crawled up your ass this morning but I actually live in the UK. So perhaps I do have a clue. In the past decade marijuana has been declassified and in large parts of London such as Brixton you would have to do be doing something pretty stupid to be arrested for smoking it.

The story you posted is about a totally different political matter. Victoria, btw was brutally treated by the aunt she was sent to the UK to live with and died beause of it. The social worker system was attacked heavily because teachers and the like had raised concerns about the girl's condition and she wasn't removed from the home. To my awareness there wasn't pot involved in that story but if you wish to talk about that story I am more than able to.

As far as the conservative Britian comment. I am one of two people that pointed out that the person obviously wasn't working with knowledge of modern Britian. Now how am I wrong for commenting on that?

DutchTeenCash 06-27-2006 08:05 AM

weve had that for ages

lollipops tea whatever

You got pissy and suggested because someone doesn't LIVE in the UK, they can't possibly know anything about it. It was an ignorant comment.

You don't live in the US, yet you comment on US politics all the time. It would be ignorant of me if I were to suggest you didn't know what you're talking about just because you don't reside here.

We can learn everything you can, right here in our homes. We can watch BBC, we can read your newspapers, among a wealth of other resources to learn about what's going on around us. There have been a lot of conservative type movements and big brother-like motions taking place in the UK as well.

Explain what's so damn necessary about having to live in the UK in order to be knowledgeable or able to comment on it? You act like it's a pre-requisite. :1orglaugh

I pointed it out as well. Sarah simply concurred.

It's hard to know whats going on while looking through a hole in the wall. You gotta climb that wall to expirence it.

For christ sake calm down. As pointed out, I wasn't even the one to say it. Nor did I say that it wasn't possible to know about the UK without living here but what I DID say was that if the poster thinks this is still conservative Britian than they haven't been here in the last ten years. Firstly, it wasn't meant in a mean way - I very rarely post anything to be mean and if I did I would be clear that it was my intent. Secondly, you then go and ask me to explain my comment which I was going to do until I saw the link you posted which had NOTHING to do with this thread hence I asked what it had to do with the topic.

So, where was I being a bitch?
