    how to transfer to pc from mini dv?

    What do i need? I bought a gs180 cant transfer the video from it. The stupid manual has no instructions. How do i do it?

    ps i have no firewire wire

      I dont own one, but if you check this review,
      review
      it appears that you can connect the USB port on the camera to your PC for tranfer.

                      I use studio 9 (probably outdated now) but it works well with me. Also, I use the firewire. The USB never works for me.

                              get a firewire card and use windows movie maker
                              until you can afford or get a copy of vegas or adobe video

                                          Using firewire here (GeekSquad). My understanding is USB doesn't transfer the full quality of the image (plus its VERY slow by comparison).

                                                  You can get firewire cards for as little as for $10.00. Ebay is your friend. Get a cable there too, don't buy them at the store unless you like getting anally raped.
